If you want to go for higher education M.phil./PhD. You need to write a research proposal for it.
In research proposal you need to include following elements for sure.

1. Research Title

2. Summary

3. Introduction (with background information regarding title)

4. Objective

5. Plan of Work

6. possible outcomes (optional)

7. References

8. Title
   The title should be very precise, attractive and meaningful.
   Title should not be explanatory.
   Title should not be in question form.
   Title should not be written in the tough language. Should be easy to understand.

9. Summary
   Summary should written in last after completing your objectives and plan of work.
   Should be written in the easy and to the point with reference to your title.
   Should be written maximum 200-250 words.

10. Introduction
    Introduction should be written in detail and following elements should be covered in the introduction section:
    a) general introduction about the topic.
    b) background information about the title with proof by citing (quoting) the previous work on same topic (also known as review of literature).

11. Objectives
    The objectives should be given in number/bullet points.
    Not more than three objectives are acceptable.
    Objectives should be clearly defining your work.

12. Plan of work
    Plan of Work should be better to divide in sub-sections and clearly explain step by step.
    Sections should be like.
    Area of study
    Experimental design
    Laboratory/ Survey analysis
    Statistical analysis

13. Possible outcomes
    In this section you will clearly write an statement like general hypothesis.

14. References
    Write reference in ascending order which you quoted in the text. Usually references are written in two formats (1) APS style (2) Chicago style. Both styles are widely accepted.
