I have to emphasize this again. This is really the only part of the debate that mattered. Virtually the entire Republican presidential field would support Trump if he was convicted of crimes. This is also why I'm a bit skeptical of polling on this question among Republicans. I think when it comes to it they'll rationalize a conviction. Trump and his surrogates have already laid the groundwork for rationalizing a conviction by attacking the prosecutors and judges in these cases. They'll no doubt do it to the juries.
The groundwork for showing that these convictions are politically motivated are whats clear to most. And all of those candidates didn't jump to raise their hands. Vivek enthusiastically put his up and the rest followed to not be left in the dust. I believe that if most kf these candidates could distance themselves from Trump then they would. But, they can't because a vast majority of the republican base is 100% behind Trump. Even if he ended up behind bars in one of these cases.
