It’s not easy. There! I said it. You all thought it was easy to stay in a no strings attached relationship, didn't you? But, here is the truth, my friend - it's tougher than a “real” relationship. People generally want a fwb relationship when they think they're just not ready to commit to someone. But, why do people look at being in a committed relationship like it’s something bad. Like you’re giving up on your life, career, dreams and goals. Why?! Being in love with someone is the best feeling ever. But anyway, we aren’t here to talk about how amazing it is to be in The Notebook kind of love, are we?

Let’s face it. We’ve all tried to be in a Rahul - Anjali kind of relationship. The relationship everyone ships. The perfect relationship. But, we failed. Even after giving it all we have. We failed. So now we think, “you know what. Fuck this. I’m never gonna commit to someone. Anyone. Ever” and we try our best to do that too. That’s because we are strong. I mean, Ofcourse!

Then we find someone who is in the exact same phase of life as we are. Career focused. Just out of a serious relationship. Looking for a fling. That’s when you think to yourself, HEY BROS this is exactly what I want! Then you go ahead and become friends and start to kiss occasionally - kissing turns into second then third then so on. You know the drill. Then both of you decide that this will just be a fwb kind of thing. But, what happens next?

1. One of you will catch feelings

Isn’t it obvious tho? He/she is laying naked next to you. You admire them. You feel their skin on yours all night. Sometimes you might even snuggle and talk about life. Ew. that sounds like a relationship, doesn’t it?

1. You will get hurt

We all pretend to be strong. But, deep inside we all are as mushy as slime. Our fwb will eventually get into another relationship or see multiple partners. We will try not to get jealous but we baby like creatures will and tadaaa! Another unintentional heartbreak coming your way.

Sometimes you feel very content with your life and think; gaadi hai, bangla hai, sex hai aur kya chahiye and you forget that ki pyaar nahi hai. 5 You feel lonely

What if you want someone to talk to? Yes, you have many friends. Yes, you have fam. But. sometimes we feel like we just don’t want them to worry. You just get sick and tired of their repetitive “It’s all going to be fine” advice. Most of the time we just end up feeling as if we are maybe annoying them.

But hey! Don’t get me wrong. Friends with benefits can end up working out just fine too. They're said to be the future of relationships. No one has time to be serious anymore. If you wanna work things out, you can if you play your cards right. Be sure that your partner and you are on the same page. Just think it over and don’t forget to do what makes you happy. Stop searching for the one. Please. He/she doesn’t exist! Try to make it work! Make mistakes! Cry all night! That’s the fun of life right now.
