Relationship is vital to human existence and any kind of relationship you find yourself, you should always take it serious and treat it well. A lot of people think relationship is all about the fun and the good moments alone. Relationship cuts across every aspect of human endeavour and you should understand that it is a call for responsibility.
A careless person cannot handle a relationship successfully and that is the bitter truth. Being in a relationship calls for your attention and sensitivity to be heightened. You need to understand what it takes to be in a relationship and not only for the good moments, but also in the not so good moments. You determine how you want your relationship to turn out by the attention and responsibility you show towards it.
You need to show respect to each other when you are in a relationship. How do you love someone you don’t even respect? I read @everlove’s story yesterday and I was so absorbed into her world and the love she has come to share with her partner. You could feel the love and more so the respect they have for each other. With love comes understanding and mutual respect.
A lot of people think once their partner did not agree to or with what they have to say it means they are being disrespected. You both need to get to the point where with varying opinions, you still find a way to meet at level ground with few compromises here and there, and that is respect.
Learn to accept the opinion of others even when you disagree with them. I may not agree with you, but I will defend your right to your opinion.

Being in relationship requires your totality, you must be ready to sacrifice a lot of things, you will think, often what you can give if you want to make the relationship last long and not want you may receive in the process. Relationship doesn't necessarily mean you are in love. It could be mutual agreement between friends, groups of people. There is this saying that life is give and take, if you aren't willing to give then forget being in relationship because more is expected of you. You will call upon at any time. For instance, if nothing connect you and someone ,will you have course to call or ask for a favour from such person? Absolutely No. Even at work, your relationship with your boss and other co-workers matter while discharge your duties.
Yes, life is giving and taking; if you want to receive love you have to give it. If you want dedication, you need to give it. Often times we don't get it back but then there is someone out there who will fall in love with who we are, and this is why we should never stop giving our all.
