Hello steemians,
Today we will discuss about "Casting Upvotes", how it was distributed to authors and curators. If you are new to steemit, take time to read and spread the news!
Auto Upvote Post Gets 100% penalty!
If you vote immediately after a post is submitted: You will get penalty by 100%.
If you vote 15 minutes after a post has been submitted: You gets 50% Penalty, and the curator gets the other 50%.
If you vote 30 minutes (or later) after a post is submitted: You gets 0% Penalty!
Authors are discouraged to auto upvoted their own post by this rule! As we all know a potential rewards of 100% will be divided from the author and the curator! 75% of over all potential rewards will be given to authors, and 25% will be given to all curators.

If you vote immediately after a post is submitted: The voter gets almost zero, the author gets nearly 100%.
If you vote 15 minutes after a post has been submitted: The voter gets 50% of the curation reward, and the author gets the other 50%.
If you vote 30 minutes (or later) after a post is submitted: The voter gets 100% of the curation reward.
Well, Curators too get penalty in curation rewards. So if the curators upvote in very early in a post, he cannot get a curation rewards depends on elapse time of a post!
At least this is the rule, but to the new steemit user, upvoting your own post automatically will hurt so much your potential rewards. First lets ask, how much is your voting worth?
The time-reward relationship is linear. The reward is progressively changing throughout that first 30 minutes. So the 15 minute mark is just an example; there is no special milestone occurring at 15 minutes. The only real milestone is at 30 minutes, when the voter hits the 100% curation payout. Until then, the author’s portion of the reward is declining and the voter’s portion of the reward is increasing, the longer you wait to upvote the post.
New steemit User can take advantages in commenting rather than creating of bunch crap copy paste article!

Did you know that you can earn much $$$ rewards in commenting? Yes! This is highly recommended to new users! Aside from commenting that you may gets rewards, you will also be known as you create a brand to yourself! But becareful in commenting on other post, you may annoy them if what you comment is useless too and nonsense!
commenting in post is simply join the discussion! Those with high reputation love to interact to those who comments to their post. If you give you opinion in a topic, you might receives an upvotes. But choose this user coz not all users are rich to give $0.01 to your comment!
Iam throwing $0.01 to all those who comment in my post, yes I did that in campaign that you should give! A redfish start to act as a whale through giving $0.01 and its not hard to do it! Then I'll will show you, and even you are a new steemit (redfish rank) giving upvotes to those who comment on your post is a start to be a whale!
New steemit users fail in every post because they simply post too simple post! Aside from that, comment to other post with"follow me", "Upvote me", is a kind of spam and rude enough to the author that you don't bother to read its article and all you want is his upvotes! You will fail!
Always share your steemit story to Facebook, tweeter, etc. .

Yes, deselect that and up-vote manually at 30 mins on your own blogs. With low SP, curation rewards are limited so i wouldn't worry about it too much.
I ll do that from now on :)

As I understand it, an author receives 75% of the upvote.
The voter receives:
0% if upvoted in the first 15 mins.
50% if upvoted 15-30 mins later.
100% if after 30 mins
If the author auto upvotes themselves, don't they receive 100% of the upvote.
75% for authoring, then the rest because the voter (who is the same as the author) voted within the 1st 15 mins.
There are two types of rewards here! Authors and curation, when you author a post, you will definitly receives the authors rewards but you can receive also curation in your own post!
The reason why you are being discouraged is to give way to curators since you are sure to receive an author rewards.
And if, your not giving a way, you will get penalty withing 7 days and it will diminished your potential rewards about 25%+ on all potential rewards!
