For today’s “Song of the Day”, I picked “Nowhere” by Racket County. Racket County is a collaboration of two different groups, the Lacs, and Hard Target/Cymple Man. Both phenomenal groups on their own, but together they are hilarious, as well as talented.
This song came out about a year ago but is still one of my favorites. I always wonder if Hard Target and Cymple Man sent the lyrics back and forth in texts as they were writing their beginning. Each of the verses are unique to the artists, and the hook is unforgettable. The video is awesome, and they used a drone to get a lot of the shots.

Since the collaboration of the Lacs and Hard Target/Cymple Man with Racket County- they have also begun another endeavor they call the Dirt Rock Empire.
If you listen to the lyrics of the song, you will see that they do not like the term Hick-hop and prefer the name Dirt Rock instead. They have used the insult of being called a dirt bag and built an empire. You can now find most of the Racket County music on the Dirt Rock Empire You Tube , along with new artist of the Dirt Rock label.
As you can see there are no rules to country rap, and each of the groups bring their own style into the mix. I hope you like today’s “Song of the Day”!
