Song of the day - Mr White Keys (Cherry Poppin Daddies)
This is my submssion for Song of the Day by @recordpool.
I see actually forgotten about this band, the Cherry Poppin Daddies, until it came up a suggestion after playing a Royal Crown Revue song on Spotify! So it was an incredibly nice surprise to rediscover the album!
This was also part of my university play list, like Royal Crown Revue, a reimagining of the days of crooners and big band jazz. It is a touch of jazz, with ska and punk sprinkled in for flavour...
This song is Mr White Keys, which is from their hit album Zoot Suit Riot. Historically, the Zoot suit Riots were a bit of a nasty episode on the American mainland during World War 2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoot_Suit_Riots
