Building a Badass Burrito

in #recipes8 years ago

How to build a badass burrito:

This recipe is for when you want an easy delicious meal, that is portable and healthy, but also is BADASS!

Please read the recipe first
Always get organic ingredients when possible!

Giant burrito tortilla (ask around for one that doesn’t taste like particle board, we want a nice soft floppy
      burrito tortilla)
       Mashed avocado or Guacamole*
      Pinto Beans, mashed https://steemit.com/recipes/@micheletrainer/delicious-pinto-beans-how-to-make-pinto-beans
Shredded iceberg lettuce (this is the only time I'd recommend this nothing type of lettuce --all other lettuce
varieties have more nutrients, but can taste bitter so for taste here, it's iceberg for the win)
      Sliced or chopped onions
      Olives, black sliced
Roasted green chilies, sliced (canned or fresh)
       Salsa or Pico de Gallo*

*For my Guacamole and Pico de Gallo (mild salsa) recipes you can get my book Sexy Salads, Michele the Trainer's Top Twenty Secrets to Make a Boring Salad Sexy

Create an assembly line of your ingredients BEFORE HEATING THE TORTILLA!
Heat the tortilla.
Start with less fillings than you imagine in the center in a line.
Salt to taste.
Then fold.
Here is an example of how to fold. You don't need any special tools (you don't need that green thing in this animation), just fold the "ends" first, then the long sides second.

You can wrap it in aluminum foil to keep it warm or in a zipper bag to freeze.

Note—you can put rice or Spanish rice in your burrito, but it’s not badass. Rice has little flavor and having more flavor is better!

Thanks @funnyman! Try it? You can freeze them too and use for lunches or hiking.

oh what a kool little foldie type flat tool : )

/ hugz ; )

I hope you invented that . . .

: )

@crok LOL ya I wish, but maybe we can improve it, like a folding heater that plugs into our car or usb port, ha!

And I think that is an awesome sounding way for you to make some additional diversified income ; now stop telling everyone about it and investigate it : )

/ hugz ; )

Maybe already been done ; / blah . . .

Mmmm olives, now there is an idea!

@meesterboom oh lot of olives in recipe future! it's a food group!

funny that when I saw this in my feed, the first thought was Dexter's giant burrito. I would be curious to try it with a low-carb wrap...

@cristi it would be perfecto!
