Pickled cucumber - Komkommer in het zuur
This, my grandmother always made for us and still does, after 92 years. Pretty simple, nice and fresh in the summer, at each meal.
All the vegetables come from the farm organic vegetable garden. I made a large amount for the visitors and clients of our care farm.
I have taken 1 liter of vinegar this time. 200 ml sunflower oil, 3 full tablespoons of sugar, 2 small red onions, pepper and salt. I try to solve the sugar as much as possible, which reduces the degree of acidity of the dish.
I cut the cucumber into thin slices so it can easily absorb the taste. The dish must marinate for a few hours and kept stored in the refrigerator.
You can also add a little mustard for the variation, or mint leaves, or dill. You can vary endlessly.

Dit maakte mijn oma altijd al, en nog steeds, ze is 92 jaar. Vrij simpel en lekker fris voor in de zomer bij elke maaltijd.
Al de groenten komen uit de biologische moestuin. Ik heb een grote hoeveelheid gemaakt voor de bezoekers en cliënten van onze zorg boerderij.
Ik heb deze keer 1 liter azijn genomen. 200 ml zonnebloemolie, 3 volle eetlepels suiker, 2 kleine rode uien, peper en zout. Ik probeer zoveel mogelijk de suiker op te lossen, dit haalt de zuurgraad van het gerecht wat naar beneden.
Ik snijd de komkommer in dunne schijfjes zodat het makkelijk de smaak kan opnemen. Het gerecht moet wel een paar uur marineren en bewaard worden in de koelkast.
Je kunt voor de variatie ook een beetje mosterd toevoegen, of muntblaadjes, of dille. Je kunt eindeloos variereren.

have you tried just 2 pieces of cucumber,rice or grape vinegar, salt, 1 spoon of honey, 2 spoons of vinegar, black pepper and crushed garlic? let soak for 15 minutes and attack! That's my granny's recipe :)
