Baked and Fried Pizza

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 500F.
  • Heat the pan to 350F and add oil.
  • Stretch out the dough to be slightly smaller than the size of your pan and use a fork to poke holes in the areas you want to add toppings.
  • Sautee the bottom of the dough until it is stiff and golden brown.
  • Remove the dough from the pan and add your toppings.
  • Place the uncooked pizza on an ungreased cookie sheet and cook it until the toppings are slightly browned.

Notes:

  • You'll need to figure out how brown you want your pizza. Cooking at 500F means you'll need to be present and check it often to avoid burning the pizza.

  • It took me 5 minutes to cook a 5 inch diameter pizza.

Awesome idea frying the crust before baking on the toppings. I was sort of expecting you to deep fry it, however. I bet frying the crust in oil gives it a great crunch. Might try this sometime!
