Take the challenge and follow the recipe. See what you think!
Well, @papa-pepper recently took a challenge and ACED IT WITH FLYING COLORS, at least according to his wife and kids. Perhaps they are biased judges though, so now it’s your turn.
CHECK OUT THIS AMAZING RECIPE AND TAKE THE EDIBLE OUTDOORS SIDE DISH CHALLENGE.
You tell me, is this food worthy of being on your table, or not.
For the story of how I came up with this recipe, click here.
INGREDIENTS:
1 Cup Plantain Seeds, Removed From Stem
3 Cups Lamb’s Quarters Leaves, Chopped
1 Cup Plantain Leaves, Chopped
1 Cup Dandelion Leaves, Chopped
1 Cup Common Yellow Wood Sorrel, Chopped
10 Garlic Cloves, Diced
¼ to ½ Stick of Butter, Depending on Your Preference
Olive Oil
Braggs Liquid Aminos or Soy Sauce of Your Choice
Lemon Juice
Salt & Pepper
As you may have noticed, except for the seasonings, Liquid Aminos, and butter, the rest of the ingredients are basically weeds. That’s the point; good, free, nutritious food that tastes incredible and is super healthy.

Dandelion
For those of you already familiar with these plants, let’s move on to the main event.
DIRECTIONS:
- Once all ingredients are harvested, washed, and chopped, heat the some Olive Oil, Butter and Diced Garlic in a skillet.
- When the Butter melts and the Garlic begins to cook, add in the Plantain Seeds and Leaves, Lamb’s Quarters Leaves, Dandelion Leaves, & Wood Sorrel.
- Cook as you would a stir-fry, frequently moving the ingredients around inside the skillet to help them cook evenly. Cover when not stirring.
- As they begin to cook down, add in 2 Tablespoons of Braggs Liquid Aminos (or the Soy Sauce of your choice).
- Once the ingredients appear to be completely cooked, squirt Lemon juice into the mix and season with salt and pepper. I used a real lemon, but if you’re using a bottle, use about 1 Tablespoon.
- Remove from heat and keep covered until serving.
- Serve with a delicious and nutritious entree.
Prep Time: 15-20 minutes once ingredients have been located and harvested.

I have my reasons.......
When I clicked this I thought it was marijuana.
Many have tried weed, but would you be willing to try these weeds?
Sure will. I have a garden of my own. I will post it and link you. :D
Thanks, if you garden in the US, I've got some seed giveaways going on right now for people . You can check them out here or here if you're interested. Let me know how you like the dish.
Looks interesting. The wife hates dandelion greens, I think I'm going to try and sneak them past her.
Chop them small and mix them in. Let me know how it turns out.
This looks delicious! I approve of your use of common weeds, I put Lamb's Quarters in my garden salads all the time! We seem like we'll be able to help each other out in this Steemit world, check out my current article if you want: https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@brownsgreens/just-grow-food
