I probably read and write at the fourth grade level, but I continue to steem on.

I don't know how I graduated high school or function in society. I can read out loud, but paint dries faster than the time it takes me to read a page from a book.

My two year old son learned the alphabet so quick and is already reading a few words on his own. I'm so proud of him, and I want him to enjoy reading as a child. Lord knows that I hated reading as a child.

My parents never worked with me when I was growing up, so I played outside and learned how to jump stuff on my bicycle or motorcycle.

I'm afraid to read to my boys, because It sounds like I'm learning to read. The phonics videos I play for my boys are helping me as well.

I'm @runridefly, and this iPhone actually writes my steemit posts for me.

For someone so down on your abilities, I've never noticed anything lacking in your grammar, and that is something I tend to notice. Steem on, and try not to pick on yourself. It looks to me like you are doing what it takes to have a beautiful family. You set a fine example. Thank you.

This is my favorite post of the day! It's easy to post about things you are good at. It's brave to post about things that are difficult. Do not be afraid to read to them. Remember from their point of view, they don't know any different. Maybe dads just read slowly to their kids because they really love them and they want their kids to hear every word. They will just think that is the way a dad does it. From what I have seen for your posts, you are awesome at the most important thing in the world... being a loving father. Reading fast is not a prerequisite for that job.

Mine too and I actually worked hard and was quite proud of my new series I started to engage people here today LOL!!!

RRF is the man.

I now follow you and Upvote. Keep up the good works. Dare to do what you desire.

It's never too late to get better at a skill...and reading IS a skill.

You have the incentive now to get better at it, so get on with practicing it! I suggest finding books from reputable authors on topics that interest you, even if those things happen to be something like sports...or, cough, porn (I used to be an avid reader of porn, back in the day, before all the pages became stuck together -- I'll spare you the details as to why).

Or you could simply keep to reading posts and comments on Steemit. The point is to make it as fun as possible.

"Practice makes perfect" is a cliche for a reason :)

Amazing post. Post of the Day buddy.

I'm at work now and the best feeling is rushing through me after reading all the awesome comments. Thank you

Keep up reading to your kids. I took me a while to be comfortable reading out loud but totally worth it to spend time with my kid.

I have very little confidence with spelling. Without my phone I couldn't do this .
Sometimes I don't trust my phone either because I saved a misspelled word, or I spell it so badly it can't even guess . I open other tabs and just type into Google. Google can usually figure out what I'm trying to say.
I have to write paper documents at work, I always have my phone on the desk to check. Even words I use often. I can't see them. And vowels, I never know which one to throw in.

There is no shame in learning and improving...ever.

I'm not a good reader, I have to read the page over as I forget what's happening
