Hello Poverty!

~
As the moonlight glistened on the water,
We danced empty-bellied by the riverside.
Vague thoughts wonder
Would you always be by my side?

Hovering over me, for all to see, near an afar
Desiring more, never having enough
Oh! What a devoted companion you are
With you I learned, how life could be tough

You provided lessons for now and tomorrow
Investing in hopes of a life's chapter ending well
Alas! I'd be left, for those who follow
Leaving silent stories that are ours to tell.
