Steem Dreams~A Snook Ramble
I was in The Ramble Discord channel the other day. A group of us were chatting about long time Steemians that do not make a lot on their posts. The people's names that came up write great posts. They go out of their way to help so many Newbies and oldbies on Steem yet their posts don't make a lot.
It got me thinking about when I started Steem. Who helped me when I was new? Have I thanked them? Do I still vote on their posts? Do they know how much their help meant to me?
Asking myself these questions, I went back to check on a few people that have helped me from the beginning. I keep going back to @Mariannewest. Mariannewest has been posting every day for 724 days. She is the one that came up with and runs, The Daily Freewrite. Looking at the Daily Freewrite post for today it has made a whopping .73 cents.
As new Steemians we voted on that daily Freewrite post yet our vote was about 1 cent. Now new people's votes are less than 1 cent. Yet, every day, there is a post for anyone that needs some inspiration to write, from @Mariannewest.
One could argue the point the Daily Freewrite post is not original each day. Yet for new people, and old, it offers current ways to make Steem from contests, how to go about voting, places you can go to help your writing, and so much more. Yet the post makes .73 cents.
So many people have left Steem, yet so many have come back and headed to the Daily Freewrite page to help them get back into the swing of posting each day.
Steem is about making money too. I get that. But. Losing sight of the people that helped you get where you are now is not a correct way of being either.
With the newest HardForks, the usage of bid bots is now gone. Groups and people are manually curating great content. Many people I know are finally making great money on their posts. Money that they should have made a long time ago. I think that is great!!
Yet...
How many extremely helpful posts, like the Daily Freewrite post and the people behind the scenes each day, are being overlooked or forgotten?

I was going to do it as part of the Discord karaoke thing you post about but I couldn't figure out how to get it to work. :D If I ever figure it out we could do it together and your could post a video of our avatars singing, I'm not good with videos or editing. :D LOL. :D

A lot of the curators would see that line and use it as a reason to not vote on the freewrite post. While I do not do a lot of posting with this account of mine, I do try and tend to vote at least three or more times a week on her freewrite post. I never know when one of the prompts may prompt me into writing something. So If I read the freewrite post I vote the free write post. There are a few other content encourager's and providers that I also vote on with out droping names, the shadowphoto's the wednesday walk about's, several of the photo type contest play or not, I may in a day or two. I need more votes to hand out in this account but, I do cover wider grounds with my other account.
Keep reminding people, it is not always about originality, or super duper quality content, it is about having fun, and supporting as many of each other as can be supported.
Excellent post, @snook, about someone who adds a lot of value to the Steem community ... I do the daily freewrite every day and vote on @mariannewest's post about it, every day ... but just today I thought about MAYBE a bunch of us who have a little STEEM put by could buy her some SBI shares so all of her posts make more. I'll start...
