I think that racism will dissolve as people find themselves getting to know their increasingly multi-cultural neighbors. It's true that children are not prejudiced. It's learned and is related to wanting to do things right and be accepted by one's own culture. For instance, class and race can be conflated. So, children may feel pressure to emulate or make friends with children who are of a higher class than their own family and to avoid making friends with children who are assumed to be "bad influences." There was a time when you could guess someone's income bracket and zipcode by their color of their skin. That is increasingly untrue. A dear friend of mine even has fraternal twins who are appear to be of differing ethnicities. As the lines increasingly blur, so will the stereotypes dissolve. I enjoyed this article. Thank you. :)
