You do not have to do anything besides posting quality posts to be featured. Our writer will choses the posts for Daily Qurator.
Yes, as a new member you will receive 30 days on Tier 2. If you also upvote with the minimum required for Tier 1 or Tier 2 it will add up to Tier 3 or Tier 4.
