Five Thought Provoking Quotes and why I abide by them
There are a few quotes that really resonate with me. Some are from others, but most are from myself. Little cognitive cookies I use every once in a while to put things in perspective.
This one resonates with me because there are many things in this world that give you fleeting emotions. Of happiness, excitement, pleasure, sadness, all sorts of emotions. sometimes something or someone comes along that you have never felt before and the feeling can catch you off guard. This is great, but sometimes one can be deceived in finding short term emotional satisfaction and sacrifice too much. This is a reminder to myself to always search for what really brings me consistent happiness and the people who contribute to it.
This is a rather cynical quote because it tugs at our dark nature as humans to . it is past our capacity to fathom the concept of a million other lives as independent and complex as our own. We are susceptible to see statistics in tragedy, whether it be deaths, poverty, rape, etc and our brain doesn't appreciate the full magnitude of the event. Meanwhile sometimes on persons death can be so exacerbated compared to that because we draw parallels to our own lives, our own family, our own experiences, as a spotlight is shown upon a persons passing. I remind myself of this whenever trying to wrap my head around concepts involving a large population.
I'm a not a person who gets extremely excited about a lot of things. I'm not a person that gets extremely built up in anticipation, sometimes because I don't want to get disappointed. I sometimes have to remind myself that's necessary. I should care about and look forward to certain things or people, although everything, but without disappointment life just isn't as sweet.
Time isn't the enemy. The frustration with time comes from our exceptional skill at squandering it.
Take a moment to think about how much of your life and daily living and actions hinder on that. I think about that whenever others judgment pauses a action of mine. Doesn't mean It always changes what I do, but certainly does a good amount.
These are some of my favorites. Maybe there are some you live by?

That Stalin quote really hit hard. With all of the tragedy in the world it is important to remember that every life is important and every experience deserves to be heard.
Exactly man, it's too easy to forget that.
Hi @diezeldiddy,
Wow, what a great set of quotes on philosophy. You have some great thoughts. "If you don't look forward to anything then you can't be let down. If you can't be let down, then you're cheating life" was my favorite quote.
Oh, I remember you said that you enjoyed my first chapter and to let you know when chapter 2 comes out. I have just posted it today. I hope you enjoy it

Thanks a ton! It brings me joy, everyone that got something out of the quotes. I did! I will check it out!
I like the first one, and that you use yourself for the quotes. Excellent work!
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
Your saying "If you don't look forward to anything, you can't be let down. If you can't be let down then you're cheating life" struck a chord with me. to me it speaks of having the courage or trust to take risks, because that's the only way we learn and grow. Keep growing Diezeldiddy! Can't wait to hear more of your thoughts
Thank you man! Means a lot that it stuck with you, and that's exactly what it means for me.
Wow very nice i love it!
Thanks you!
I especially like "Anyone can give you feeling, only a few can give you reality." When things aren't going so well, you're real friends might tell you things that displease you, but are in your best interest to listen to.
Very true, the ones that care sometimes are the only ones that tell the truth and it hurts sometimes. Thanks for the response
