"Control your own destiny or someone else will."

The questions I would have love to ask are what does it mean destiny and how a child can control his own destiny and what parents are call to do as regards a child? 

First of all, there is destiny in terms of predestination which doesn't depends on you. 

For instance you haven't asked to be, you haven't choose where to born, nor your parents, etc these are destiny as the predestinated. 

There is destiny as the word suggest, which is your horizon, a sort of becoming which is yours but which you may not control. 

As a child you can't control your destiny because you have no means for. 

It is then normal your destiny is control by others, your parents.

 In this perspective the problem isn't that someone else control your destiny the problem is the sign of that control.  

When Jack Welch were born in 1935 the United States were a segregated country, millions weren't free to control their destiny.

 Also when in 1492 Columbus has 'discovered' that is when Europeans first know an America existed there were Indians, they too have been allowed to control their destiny, the way their destiny were controlled by others has had as outcome their ruin.

 Therefore we should see our destiny as the destiny of humanness of man in other words common destiny.
