It is true what you say, maybe its better to say we gave our power away.. but i do think this is true for many people..clearly not you or I.. but the average person i think has stopped dreaming or being able to think.. due to paralysis brought on by fear..

Unfortunately we are very susceptible to suggestion / hypnosis and so the 'mere' and constant suggestion that we should be fearful about everything is very powerful.. most are not strong enough to overcome this hypnotic state..
