Mini Motivation #42 - Your life. Your story. Your call.

in #psychology6 years ago

Sometimes we let the environment mould us, forcing us to make uncomfortable decisions, manipulating us into forsaking our principles, goading us into testing our character.

Sure, sometimes the discomfort was what we need to build ourselves, to test our strength and resolve. We can look back on those and know the trials were just and necessary, even though it wasn't so when we went through them.

But then, there were discomforts that lasted way longer than they should, ripping us of our sleep, removing passion from our daily actions. Maybe you still experience them now. They eat into us, and you know it does, because the steps you take are slower, almost to a drag, and you don't look forward to a new day anymore.

Regardless if it's by your choice or the choice of others, looks like you've fallen into the wrong story. It's no longer a trial of attitude, and you know deep down, the discomforts you feel are telling you that things need to change.

So change it up, leave the story is you have to. Life is too short to be lived in regrets. Always look at the 50-50 chance, because you already know how the story is going to unfold if you stay. The tale is gonna be the same tomorrow, just as how it has been for the past, if you don’t change.

But if you leave, if you turn the directions of your pen, if you force a closure of chapter long overdue, then you have a 50% chance of a new, better story.

End of the day, remember this:

Your life. Your story. Your call.

Mini Motivation is my own daily strategy to inspire myself. Mostly 3 minute reads.

From Motivation, we gain Inspiration. From Inspiration, we achieve Momentum. And the rest, they say, is history.

Hope it helps nudge you a bit too in the right direction.

Oh it did? Let me know in the comments, and of course an upvote would be a nice motivation for me. :)

Stay awesome!

Wait, why's Mav posting on Steemit nowadays?

Well, unlike other blogging and social media platform, Steemit is the only platform that allows me to earn cryptocurrency when I engage with it. Yup, one Steem is about USD7, and you, too, can earn Steem Dollars every time you:

  • Create content (articles, blog posts, podcasts, videos, photos)
  • Upvote (like) other people contents
  • Comment on other people's posts
  • Have discussions, share opinions etc!

Yup, basically it's the very same thing you're doing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc all along!

The only difference? For once you can earn a nice income on the side!

Sign up for a free Steemit account, and you can thank me by coming back and upvoting this article. And guess what, you will earn Steem too for doing that! #awesome

I recently wrote myself off the pages of a 13 year long story. The first 5 years were awesome, but it turned to shit 8 years ago. Unfortunately I hung on because of attachment and allowed the other characters to slowly chip away at my peace and happiness.

Get out! It's like ripping off a plaster. Hurts for a minute, but soon you start feeling lighter and you will experience a profound increase in self-awareness while becoming a lot more selective about what and whom you allow into your life.

Attachment is NOT the same as love. It's one destructive lie. Learn the difference. You may waste some of the best years of your life this way.

I did and got severely hurt.

Wow, chief. Thanks for the emotional share. I'm sure your tale sounds familiar to some people, and they may be living through their version of the story too.

You're right about the attachment part. Hate to quote the song from Frozen, but "Let It Go" could be the advice we give others the most but took for ourselves the least.

Have a great week ahead, bro.

I also sometimes find myself in a position where someone like, say, Britney Spears said it best and I don't want to quote their hit song, hahaha.

Thanks, best to you too!

Sir, the EGO is also a factor in this. No one wants to accept that they are at the wrong place.

How true. Thanks for pointing it out. :)

Obviously most people get the wrong idea of motivation that Steemit platform will made them rich instantly which eventually they will realize it won't. Instead of thinking monetization method, we should think of how our post and feedback could help others improve and evolve to become better.

Quite true. Actually when we have our intro events, we put the heading as "Create Content & Earn Cryptocurrencies". That itself I have a ddilemmawith, because while at one point it is the truth (you can earn on Steemit), but it also uses greed (under the guise of curiosity) to attract people to the event/platform. What do you think?

Marketing is all about powerful words. The title just part of marketing strategy to attract people to join the event. It also stated the fact of it as well. If the event title made people feel discomfort, you guys may always change for a better event title such as "The New Era of Earning Cryptocurrencies using Blogging". The most important thing is during the event always delivery the appropriate message to the audience.

Hey, thanks for your suggestion! It's sounds really good to me!

You're in marketing too, bro?

I'm not in marketing field. It just an instinct to find suitable words for it.

Looks like you have a natural knack for that. :)
