EARTH CUSTODIANS COMMENT: Nobody can be elected by telling the truth. Nobody. Truth is the destroyer of all illusions. And therefore is it a very difficult and challenging task to spread the truth. The Consensus thinks that society can progress by changing people's mindset with the injection of half-truths every now and then, but if some of the old mindset taints any new approaches, the individual will tend to twist the new elements in favor of the old mindset. And this explains why the same problems resurface after a while, making solutions even more elusive and out of reach as time goes by. Hence the explosive and dire prospects brewing silently.
This is what society as a whole has done for millennia, and the absolute evidence is that its 'power structure' has not changed. There is no change possible without any deep life changing event. The majority will not do a thing until forced by a rude awakening. As a matter of fact, it shouldn't be that way. We should be able to foresee the problems ahead in any new approach and always choose the least coercive solutions, but societies have been too conditioned to reject any change challenging the norms.
Very often a majority does not mean that the Consensus is right. If wars were efficient how does it come that warfare still exists after 4 millennia? A society that has not abolished war is a society that hates itself, and in the hands of oligarchs, a Death Cult. It is truly discombobulation to watch on TV the devastation of war and normalization of sufferings. Just like ancient Romans approving with their 'thumbs up' people being thrown alive to the lions and tigers in the arena. Yet we call it democracy!

Well said. I feel that people would vote for someone who told them the truth no matter how much of a wedgie it gave their core beliefs if, like you state, the consequences are dire enough. The core problem of the social power structures not changing (IMHO) is that any power structure will attract control freaks and psychopaths who, as you know, will say anything to get into that position of power and control. And yes, civilization is unsustainable simply because of it's complexity and hierarchical nature that gives psychopaths a purchase, a place to display their narcissism and act out their paranoid delusions. The results of any civilization are always the same: Oligarchs on top, slaves on the bottom. It's time we quit lending positive connotations to civilization. Civilizations ruin. Historically, it's the wild people of the world who are Earth's custodians. Let's all walk away from civilization and rewild. Thank you for your thoughtful post.

This is the same thing the communists said when they were losing their battle, "Let's use the capitalistic system to destroy it" when their economies were failing badly. The truth is, they had to return to capitalism to survive. :)
Pretty good tool, that money, eh? Why get rid of it? Such ridiculousness...let's get rid of money? How will you get your food, and a roof over your head? How will you get your computer fixed when it breaks? Who is going to build all the things we need to survive and why?
Sorry to say, but the world could not function without money. It is here to stay. It has withstood the test of time, thousands of years. It is the best tool we have ever created.
