Having recently returned from an extended vacation in Europe this summer, my conclusion upon catching up on events missed while away was that the mainstream media has completely and utterly abandoned any semblance of integrity. It was just a few months ago that the corporate media was "just" promoting disinformation as factual narratives; fast forward to now and the corporate media is openly advocating anti-free speech censorship and lynch mob authoritarianism.
The news agencies are supposed to serve the public by providing objective oversight of government and society as a whole. Only when this task is fulfilled in good faith is it possible to maintain a functioning social and political order based on honesty and transparency. The corporate media has failed in this respect on all counts. The corporate media has become the megaphone of oligarchs promoting coercive collectivism and the violent suppression of informed conscientious dissent.
The corporate news media's Potemkin facade of objectivity and integrity has been utterly destroyed by its active promotion of unethical, unelected and unaccountable technocratic totalitarianism. The unequivocal in-your-face hysterics of the radical coercive collectivist corporate propaganda squads pretending to be news (and entertainment) would be laughable if the consequences weren't so dire for the population's freedom, prosperity and physical well-being. It is getting ugly.
Everything and anything factually contradictory to the coercive collectivists' desired narratives has been perfidiously labeled as "hate speech" and is being regulated out of existence by unelected and unaccountable bureaucracies with the willing complicity of the mentally enslaved masses and their government handlers. Conditioned by social media to believe conformity is security, anti-free speech advocates are digging mass graves for independent thought and individual discernment of the good.
Undermined by decades of indoctrination and Pavlovian conditioning masquerading as education, vast swathes of the population are simply incapable of recognizing, much less resisting, the existential threat that is the weaponized propaganda known as corporate mainstream media. Entrained to predictably react to emotional stimuli while rejecting the desirability or legitimacy of calm and logical argumentation, useful idiocy has become a malignant and contagious neurosis.
It is deeply disheartening to witness the willing abdication of independent thought by the zombified masses that vapidly regurgitate weaponized propaganda as a form of virtue signaling self-aggrandizement. The absolute lack of self-reflection and unwavering conviction in narratives that have little to no factual basis in reality and that trumpet a disingenuous moral superiority has become a black badge of obliviousness for the intentionally, proudly and militantly misinformed.
Mainstream corporate media, weaponized and deployed by billionaire oligarchs and government kleptocrats, has become the means to enact coercive collectivism and technocratic neo-feudal serfdom. Any who dissent from their irrational and anti-freedom hysterics are slandered, libeled, financially eviscerated and sacrificed on the altar of public humiliation to the raving ululations of its reverential marionettes that are goose-stepping society towards the graveyard of freedom.
The role of the oligarch-owned corporate media in causing this state of affairs cannot be overstated. The intentionally misinformed mob, ignorant of historical precedent and convinced of its own righteousness by a medial echo chamber of inane moral posturing, with its intolerant and extrajudicial suppression of divergent views, has rendered itself an absolute mockery of everything its claims to stand for, indeed, it has become exactly that which it claims to oppose. Hypocrites, all.

The problem with the West and Marxism is that the West never considers Marxism seriously. Somehow, Marxism is perceived as a rational ideology, while fascism and imperialism are regarded as existential threats. Even Nazi ideology, due to its roots in nationalism, is less threatening to Western societies than Marxism would be. Fascism and imperialism are regional ideologies: Generalissimo Franco was entirely indifferent to international affairs, once his faction consolidated power in Spain. General Secretary Stalin, never stopped sending subversive spies, even during the Second World War. If the West does not bother the fascists, the fascists will not bother the West; Marxists, however, will never stop their attempts at subverting non-communist societies because the foundation of their ideology is rooted in the humanist poison of international revolution.
How did the Yanks, with their cutting-edge technology, limitless money, and numberless conscripts, lose to little yellow men on rice paddies, fighting with second-hand weapons? Only twenty years prior, the US obliterated Imperial Japan, annihilated the Third Reich, and ground Italy into dust. US lost the war in Vietnam because their society was heavily infiltrated by Soviet agents in academia, media, and arts. Walter Cronkite's ludicrous "analysis" of the failed Tet Offensive somehow convinced US political leadership to accept the Soviet propaganda and declare defeat, after killing fully one-third of enemy strength in South Vietnam and crippling their operational infrastructure. Yet, this Marxist spy is hailed as the ideal of journalism by many brain-dead Western "journalists." Cronkite probably was awarded the Order of Lenin, in absentia, for single-handedly crushing the US military operation in Vietnam. A spy in the right place is worth more than ten regiments of elite troops.
The infiltration of Marxist agents in Western society has intensified, since Vietnam, yet the West is oblivious to this existential threat. The Western political leaders are blind or unwilling to combat the Marxist cancer, eating away at the core of their society. Because the cancer has metastasized aggressively into various facet of Western society, drastic measures will be necessary to purge these subversive elements from Western sociocultural matrix.
I concur that Marxism is a particularly pernicious form of collectivism whose destructive potential is vastly underestimated. The misguided Marxists I am familiar with barely bat an eye when confronted with the necessity of violence Marxism entails and - by extension - guarantees. To a man (and woman) they are apologists for the genocides carried out in pursuit of Marxist utopianism, expounding with meme-like mantras that "that wasn't real Marxism" or "it wasn't done right". The potential for self-delusion when coupled with blind conviction in one's own moral superiority is infinite in its ability to discount human life as worthless unless it obeys the self-appointed masters.
The US population is slowly becoming aware of the coercive collectivism that has infected academia and the education system in the states, thanks largely to the independent media. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of Europe, where the population appears in thrall to expectations of social conformity at all costs. Even the populist uprising in Europe fails to recognize that it is academia and the subversion of the education system that has opened the gates to generations of bloodshed and terror at the hand of anti-logic theists. Only Hungary appears to have recognized that the academic suite of postmodern neo-Marxist pseudosciences are little more than a fifth column designed to destroy societal cohesion in favor of their own brand of authoritarian conformism.
Beyond any doubt there will be a purge of undesirables in the west, the only question is what form it will take and which undesirables will be expunged and overwritten as inhuman monsters in the pages of history.
Marxism starts with the central banking system, and corporatism - just like democracy (in Marxist theory) - is a neccassary stepping stone on the way to communism.
The facade of capitalism in the west has been the left's biggest victory, since 1913.

Excellent way of putting it! What I find most worrying is the highly contagious nature of this disease.

I suspect the contagious aspect is augmented by the intentionally engineered dopamine feedback loops that the now ex-president of FB Sean Parker and VP Chamath Palihapitiya have openly discussed. These two men have acknowledged what they have done, but they have yet to recognize (or at least publicly acknowledge) that their work has been intentionally weaponized to divide and conquer the population for the benefit of the parasitic "elites". I don't consume that much media (other than business news), but I haven't observed this wholesale shift toward coercive collectivism. Maybe the outlets I read aren't as mainstream?

There is definitely push back against the collectivists, but they are definitely raising a ruckus and seem to dominate the "liberal" news landscape at this time. This was a little exercise in polemics that had been bubbling in the back of my mind while traveling so I gave it a write-up.

This was all very much predictable by September 12th, 2001. The biggest lie in recent history was bound to be covered up by endless inanity and duplicity.
I suspect for those in the know it was not only predicted but engineered far in advance of 9/11, it had to be to enable the cover up and silencing of the truth. Nevertheless the mask remained on. Only now, as the second American revolution threatens to erupt, is the mask slipping as the playwrights in the wings remove their velvet gloves to reveal the iron fist of tyranny.
Trump was right (again) the corporate media ARE the enemy of the american people.
I agree Trump was right about the corporate media, and the beauty of it is that Trump caused them to totally jump the shark and let their true colors shine through! The whining about how Trump is "unfair" to such lying sacks of garbage is endless for its entertainment value.
