Today I have reached out to the students of Uganda Christian University informing them about Steemit and Sensitising them about cryptocurrency in general. I have done so through journeying around the school campus meeting students one on one and a bunch of them in the different lecture rooms informing them about Steemit.
Before I continue elaborating about what really transpired in today’s promo-steem campaign. Allow me share with you briefly about the yearly program of this university.

Uganda Christian University has 3 semesters in year that is January intake which is referred to as Easter semester, the May intake which is termed as Trinity Semester, the September intake which is termed as Advent semester.
This University had just broken off from the Easter semester/January intake for a holiday of just 1 week and now students are back for a fresh new semester. This semester is comprised of new students who have just joined campus after their form 6 and those that are continuing students which are in their 2nd and 3rd year of studies.

I reached out to these students who were very amazed and looked at me with looks of desiring to know more about this great Steemit opportunity that is after exciting them about the reward element of Steemit for the good content shared. I gave them fliers that constitute the brief and catching notes about Steemit and my personal contact to call me when they need any assistance on the platform.

I managed to help in creating a Steemit account for a friend who is a student and a secondary teacher. His user name is @matendewilson. He is on a waiting list for his account to be approved. When approved, I will guide him in writing his first introductory post. Where I will teach him how to tag and also instruct him to always use the Uganda tag. His a passionate man about the Uganda Nationals. I believe he will be of great benefit to the Steemit community.

I informed these students how we are in a digital migration where everything such as money is running digital. I gave them an example of the now famous mobile money system that we have around which everyone is using in sending, receiving and saving money. It’s all in digital form I added. After making them get that picture then I defined cryptocurrency for them in a simple way as given in the quote below:

Cryptocurrency is money in digital form.

I gave them some examples of digital currencies such as Steem, Bitcoin, Etherium, Ripple, Bitcoin cash and so on as they are conveyed on the coin market cap.

Many people still need to be informed about cryptocurrency as the majority of people are still lying on the dark side of it. Meaning that they are not aware of this new move. I thank God for Steemit that has empowered us to always go out there to speak to people about Steemit because this is exposing many to the knowledge of cryptocurrency.
Steemit not only has a benefit of rewarding it’s members for good content but also that of exposing people to the knowledge of cryptocurrency.

With these efforts, the generation is being prepared for the full takeover of the economy by cryptocurrency.

The Steemit Uganda Community is growing drastically as new people are joining the Steemit ride every other day. Am also busy looking out for people who already signed up and got approved on Steemit during these several University out reaches that we have had so far. I believe there are quite a number of Ugandans that haven’t yet started using the Uganda tag. This is in our plans as promo-steem team Uganda where we hope to discuss and handle this issue through our next meet up that we will soon communicate about its agreed scheduled date.

As usual these fired me questions such as:-

Where are the headquarters of Steemit?
Where is your office?
How do you earn?
How does Steemit benefit from rewarding people for their content?
What should I do to join?

Steemit is a social media platform that pays you for good content shared. It’s an online business that is steem crypto based. Because it is crypto based so it seeks to promote its crypto through promoting its usability that is through having as many people who are knowledgeable about it and use it in making daily transactions. As a Steemit promoter always be ready to answer questions like those ones. This therefore calls for early preparation whereby you need to make yourself very familiar and knowledgeable about the guidelines on the Steemit welcome page plus the blue and White paper that explains about the reward pool and more details about the steem-blockchain technology.

Steemit is surpassing Google because of the great lot of content that is being created every day on this platform by various active steemians. No wonder there is a great man on this platform called @surpassinggoogle. I like his username, it’s indeed a prophetic one, elevating Steemit and conveying where Steemit is heading to.

My Solid reasons for promoting Steemit here in Uganda

• To grow a very big and active Uganda Steemit Community of about 1000 active users by this year with a purpose of easy networking, cooperation and building great Steemit projects in this nation.
• To enlighten my country mates about cryptocurrency for their preparation to start making investment choices in crypto more so in steem that is in a nearby future.
