Steemit: The New Fintech Social Media

Apparently, Plato was not a big fan of the written word.

He thought it was dangerous to write your thoughts down & not be around to defend them.

Who knows who could have misrepresented your positions.

He was completely anti media.

Well Plato.

I'm here to tell you no one gives a damn.

No disrespect to Plato of course.

But social media was going to happen at one point of history or another.

Humans are wired to spread information.

What is social media?

Social media is when a source is able to send a message to multiple receivers.

Social media can also be referred to as mass communication.

The first wave of mass communication was the printing press.

Then, it became prevalent to spread messages via air waves.

Radio and Television became mainstream.

During the era of radio & TV, there were a lot of gate keepers.

A lot of people who were there to tell you whether or not your content was 'appropriate' to be spread to the masses.

Nowadays, the gatekeepers are mainly gone.

No one is telling me to send these blog articles.

Mass communication is taking on a different era.

Your limiting beliefs are the only gate keepers.

One of the most important topics you were never taught was media literacy.

It is the subject of being able to navigate the media landscape.

Highly important skill set in today's interconnected world.

I recommend googling the topic & reading some articles on it.

I saw a picture of the internet recently from afar.

It showed all the node & network connections.

From a high level overview, it looked like the neural pathways of a brain.

Why is this important?

Because nowadays, the exchange of ideas are rapid.

But more importantly, Earth is having an evolution.

The internet nodes are symbolic of neural path.

Our world is growing like a baby who is maturing.

The reason you need to know this is so you can be fluent of the new world of communications.

A world where everyone is connected.

You are no longer just talking to local levels, but global levels as well.

This is good news & bad news.

Bad news is because unqualified people have a voice.

But good news because qualified people have a voice.

I think the good definitely outweighs the bad.

Watching the trash on mainstream media is cringe worthy at this point.

My prediction is the world will be much more well informed.

But there is always the pareto principle.

20% will begin hitting genius levels while 80% suffer from excessive outrage.

These are just predictions.

But with the era of mass communications changing, start being more aware.

Every message is intended to have an impact.

Be more mindful of your Steemit feed.

YouTube suggested videos.

And Twitter trends.

All these are clues into building your media literacy especially in #steemit

The information you consume is the information that you become.

So in this hyper connected world, make sure you are curating wisely.

The effects will influence your subconscious mind.

Good or bad.

So stay woke & see what the others miss.

Fostering Steem on Twitter

Creating social awareness about Steem on Twitter is a collective endeavour and prominent steemians like @stephenkendal @theycallmedan @ocd @clixmoney and a multitude of others are consistently & steadily preaching the word about this community blockchain.
If you have a twitter account you need to board on this boat. You can do this by pursuing particularly with regard, tags such as #steem #posh #steemit & #steemspeak and you will meet, engage and interact with other steemers on the platform and buidl better together by keeping the dialogue coursing.

So far this initiative has helped me boost my followers last week immensely.
I came from 520 followers before boarding the boat to 550 followers in one week and now in second week am at 555 and looking forward to follow more Steemers in twitter and this platform too.
