Steem Summit's Call for Performance Judges

The first objective of Steem Summit, as indicated in Steem Summit Manifesto, is to showcase the diversity of Cebuano talent. Together with the exhibit, there will be performances that will be showcased in the summit proper. The organizers have already made a Call for Exhibit Panelists and the first Call for Submissions in Art Category was already posted. In this post, the organizers are calling for performance judges.

As with the exhibit, the performances in the summit proper will be screened and streamlined such that only those who were chosen by the judges will perform. This is due to time constraints in the summit proper. Just like in the exhibit, the screening process will be done prior to the summit proper.

The organizers made clear that they will not involve themselves in the screening process to avoid bias and conflict of interest. The judges will choose those performances to be included in the program.

With that intention, the organizers are calling for performance judges in the following categories:

1. SINGING COMPETITION - This competition will showcase the songbirds of Cebu. In any event in the Philippines, a singing is always present. This competition is intended to those who want to showcase their amazing voice and singing prowess.
2. ‎BEATBOX PERFORMANCES - One of the testaments of how diverse Cebu community is, is the presence of a beatbox community. To promote inclusiveness, this competition is intended for them.
3. ‎SPOKEN WORD POETRY - This competition is intended to those who can express their emotions through spoken word. To those who have a lot of hugots in life and love, this is the right competition for you.
4. ‎DANCE COMPETITION - The same with singing, dance performances are always a staple in any event. This competition is intended to those who have the movement and grooves.

This is the true essence of the first objective; to showcase the diversity of Cebuano talents.

The organizers needed THREE (3) Performance Judges in each category.

Requirements to be a Judge:

1. You have to be adept in the technicalities of your chosen category. Anyone can be a judge as long as you know how to rank performances and choose the best among the contenders.
2. ‎You love to watch performances and critique them. You don't have to be an expert singer to distinguish a good voice. As long as you know what you are looking for in a performance, you are eligible to be a performance judge.
3. ‎You can spare some time in your week to judge the performances. If you are sure that you can commit to submit your scorecard within the alloted time, you deserve to be a judge. The organizers will try their best to send tokens of appreciation to the judges after the summit.
