Hello beautiful Steemians. I hope you all are having a good day. Well I am. I am @oredebby and I joined Steemit in January, 2018, close to about 3 months now on Steemit. I'll really like to welcome the newbies here and I have some few tips for you that will really help you in your journey if you take to it. I'll like you to go through and understand it. Thanks so much.

As newbies and minnows, we are like new born babies here and we really cannot differentiate our left form our right. Some people joined Steemit to learn, some to make friends, some to market themselves and so many other reasons. But we all came for a particular reason which is making money. Yea, we all did. So what happens when a newbie is told he/she is coming to make money and the money isn't forthcoming at the initial stage, one might get tired and frustrated. Are you in that category? The tips below are just for you.

INTRODUCTION

First of all when you join Steemit, the first post you are meant to do is your introductory post. Make your introduction really catch and very interesting for people to read. Your name, Country, Job/Business, Hobbies, and other interesting part of you should be highlighted. And that will make people know you more and relate with you better.

RELATIONSHIP

Here on Steemit, relationship building is key. You really need to start mingling with people early enough and build a very good relationship with other Steemians. Love of the people will make you stay put here.

CONTENTS

One thing you should note is that your contents must always be related and original. Do not spam. Be yourself, write your article, use your words. Don't be fake.

Some people say "Oh I am not a professional writer", " Lots of people in the community are better than me", "I do not know how to write" and stuffs like that. No, don't say that. No one is an island and Rome wasn't built in a day. Start from somewhere. Learn to read, learn from your environment, there are a million and one things to write about, just that you've not discovered. Be open to learn new things each day.

First "Learn", then later, you remove the " L" and begin to "Earn". We learn every single day of our lives. The day any man stops learning, he starts dying.

TOPIC

Make the topics of your post catchy enough for people to want to open it and of course it must be related to the post you are writing about. When your topics don't interest people or have low visibility, it may make your post less likely to be noticed especially if you don't have many followers yet.

TAGS

You have the space for just five (5) tags. Five (5) related tags to your post. Note that the more relevant your tags are, the more relevant people will come across it, read it and ofcourse upvote the post. Your first tag is especially the most important tag.

Make sure you use tags intelligently. For example if you are writing about a car, then you might find that "cars" is a more popular tag than "automotive" - in that case it would make more sense to prioritise "cars" as a tag and only use "automotive" if you have an unfilled tag.

PICTURES

Pictures have a way of catching people's attention to anything. Especially the first picture you use, it has to carry some volume of what your content is all about. Make your pictures interesting and beautiful for every eyes to see.

REFERENCE

Incase you want to bring up someone else's words or quotes, please be sure to acknowledge the person appropriately so it won't seem as though you wrote it. Especially when everyone knows who said those words.

CONSISTENCY

My sincere advice to you is to be persistent at what you do. Not everyone gets noticed at the initial stage. Just keep at it, keep up the good work and be optimistic.

PAYOUT

Talking about the 50/50 Payout and 100% Power up, If you choose 100% option, your payout will only be in Steem Power(SP). As a minnow that option is not advisable. The option is best for Whales and Dolphins in the system. So as a minnow, choose the 50/50 option which means that out of the 75% of your payout, 50% of it goes to your Steem Dollars wallet and the remaining 50% goes to your Steem Power. The remaining 25% out of the total 100% is shared among your curators, that is, those that upvoted your post. That is just how it is.

UPVOTES/VP

Please be sure not to upvote every single post you see. Make sure you're using your upvote power to reward content you find genuinely awesome. Apart from that, your upvote gauge is like a stamina bar. When you vote every post, your Voting Power (strength) reduces and it goes up slowly over time. Please use them wisely.

Lastly before I stop, please take note
•Do no beg for upvotes
•Make good comments/replies
•Stay focused, do not be discouraged
•Note that Rome wasn't build in a day
•And finally, Readers are leaders

Thank you so very much for reading. I hope you enjoyed every bit of it. I'll appreciate comments please and do well to resteem this post for other people to read and learn more. I love you all so much.

Till I come your way next time...
I remain your sugar lovey dovey @oredebby
