WELCOME TO STEEMIT: What newbies should know/do to enjoy steemit from the word "GO"
STEEMIT is a social media just like twitter but the difference is that you get cash rewards when you STEAM. I joined the steemit community on March 2018, so no tension! I am a newbie too. Newbies are in levels, you just need to humbly categorize yourself by YOURSELF(grins). Have in mind that on March 2020, this post will still be here. Guess what? I will no longer be called a "newbie" maybe i will be a "WHALE" then....I have learnt by observation in just less than two weeks of being on steemit and i will love to share them with the newbies.
-KEEP YOUR PASSWORD SAFE WITH ALL YOU HAVE GOT
Steemit does not have anything to do with your password. The safety of your password is totally your responsibility. IF you lose your password, you lose the account. I had a very bitter experience with this password brouhaha. I saved my password only in my tablet, my tablet misbehaved one day and that was how i lost my first account. STEEMIT is like banks, they can't know your ATM card pin.
-DON'T BE INTIMIDATED WHEN YOU SEE THE DATES OTHER STEEMIANS JOINED STEEMIT
You are a newbie today doesn't mean you will remain a newbie forever. Steemit is still new and growing per second,very soon you will be one month old on steemit and that means you will be one month older than other users that are coming. So relax!!
-FOLLOW PEOPLE
Follow people that posts things that interest you. Check the newsfeeds and trends and follow stuffs from there. Try and follow back people that follows you. Follow the people that your followers RESTEEM their posts,that is how the networking goes...
-YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A VERY GOOD WRITER TO ENJOY STEEMIT
Writing is a skill and not everyone has the skill. I assure you in less than two months, you will become a very good writer. Steemit is full of very good writers you can learn from. So instead of posting garbages, you can just read stuffs people posts that interest you, upvote, comment and resteem. They all count as posts and you get curation rewards by doing them.
-MIND YOUR TAGS
Make sure that when you create posts, try and use related tags. You cannot create a post on "love" and be tagging "cryptocurrency", it doesn't make sense.
-DON'T RUSH TO CREATE POSTS
When you chose a subject to write on, don't rush to write and post. Take your time and allow ideas fly into your mind so you can write extensively well, other steemians can only UPVOTE on a post that makes sense.
-FOLLOW PEOPLE THAT UPVOTES YOUR POST
I do this a lot. It is my way of showing appreciation to the upvoters for upvoting my post. By following them, you get to see their posts and resteam.
-CHECK OTHER PEOPLE'S WALLET
Now i have exposed myself(covers face). I check people's wallet a lot too, sometimes i know serious steemians when i check their wallets. It has a way of motivating and encouraging me to believe that steemit is real, so i give my best afterwards. YOU CAN'T BELIEVE IN WHAT YOU CAN'T SEE RESULTS
-DON'T WRITE/COMMENT ON POSTS YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND
Steemit is a very big platform and new things are being unveiled everyday,stay on your lane and learn. What you don't understand just resteem, it might help your followers.
-YOU CAN STILL MAKE MONEY WITHOUT POSTING/ALWAYS BEING ONLINE
Steemit is a community full of people with good heart. I was surprised when i saw someone that hardly post stuffs with a huge wallet. I saw many transfers from steemians to an account that hardly post sensible stuffs, you should know that senseless post equals no upvotes. As a way of encouraging him to avoid him feeling demoralized and quitting the platform thus, the transfers. Is steemit not sweet?????

-BE ACTIVE/LIVELY
Don't be a spectator on steemit, take it serious and try and give your best. Create, read,comment, resteem and upvote. Don't be too focused on the rewards, think of how to grow the community. You made the right decision to sign up, keep it social and catch fun. Learn as much as you can, start from the bottom and very soon you will be there...
