Project idea - "The Minnow Effect" putting steem on the map one community project at a time..

Many steemians have time, ideas, and availability to fulfill community projects to build their communities outside of steem, but may not have funding or time to gather funding. And people on steem, want to make sure their upvotes are going to people who will utilize that well, and make an impact with it! Some, have ideas but not the time.

With The Minnow effect, we could showcase community projects to fund them, like Ghanas initiative to help jobless people onto steem. Or, create community bounties to host events and ideas in their community based upon the funding pool!

This idea comes not only from a place of wanting to see change in the world. But- from wanting to be change in the world. Lately, in my personal journey of living out of my car, I thought of some great ideas to help the community around me in Sacramento. But, I have other commitments to my time to make sure I sustain myself. I realized, my mind almost discarded these ideas all together, for the safety of my time.

Making a communal way to support these projects, would at least give these ideas an outlet. If not a whole support system.

This issue occurs all the time, but we don't realize it because we discard great ideas to assist our community once we see the difficulty barriers! This problem could be solved today by creating community accounts and ways to fund every day people with extroardinary ideas and hearts to revolutionize their communities. Also, the model of giving to bulky systematic non-profits is outdated, management changes, and visions shift. Donating based upon project and situation could revolutionize and get proper funding where it needs to be. Utilizing a community spotlight, and SMT voting system.

As a bonus, this can put steemit on the map, imagine what happens when projects sponsored by steemit community sprout up in all different countries? Imagine how many local papers, and eventually big news we can end up in from supporting real world initiatives like this? Simply, we can have each other send in 'anonymous recommendations' for local news article features for each others projects :)... Let that sink in.

"Many wings, many hearts, beating together for the best ideas."

In a world driven further away from the sense of 'community' by technology and the pace of life, we have a unique opportunity to not only vote on, but support things that matters. Bridging real people in real communities to be able to take innovative ideas, and rebuild their environment to comfortably call 'home' once again.

This idea is inspired by meeting with someone who in 5 years, has turned around one of the worst communities in his area around. By empowering the community to take the initiative in their own hands. Starting from their local business', bridging into the education and community communication. The biggest misconception is we cannot make a difference. The key element here is going to be transparency, and harnessing SMTs, or other systems for community to vote where funds will go. All use of funds will be transparent, and systems will be in place for voting allocation. At some point, I hope to make the account an 100% trustless system.

What's next for The Minnow Effect?

For this project to take flight, we need a team.
It starts not with I, but with us.
