hello steemians!

Screenshot (746).png
we passed our target and heading for more, 1million potential outreach? yes, its possible!

Right now I'm just so super excited! 2 days ago I posted on how a thunderclap campaign on twitter was capable of making the steemit platform trend on twitter, Trending is of cause, not an easy feat as a lot of people need to be talking about the platform, what we are doing, using a certain hashtag etc.

So since I made the post here as well as @fitzgibbon continually pushing it forward, more and more people have come on board to support the campaign.

We need heavyweights that use twitter, like @stellabelle @slothicorn @greenrun @certainassets @teamsteem etc on twitter to also join this campaign.

So far so good, a target was placed for 100 people, but we have breached that, and now heading to 200 users who would push the coin.

If you're a very active person on twitter or you know a very active person on twitter, then please join in this campaign.

Be ye Nigerian, Ghanaian, Kenyan, American, German, Chinese, Japanese, Korean or otherwise, your contribution to this campaign will be highly appreciated.

This campaign was initiated by @fitzgibbon with the hope of bringing attention to how fast the steem platform is, but the messages can be customized.

I suggest 3 things when customizing your message for the thunderclap

* please leave the gif of how fast the steem blockchain is

* use the steemit hashtag and your community hashtag if possible, for Nigerians, lets use #Steemitinnigeria

* Leave a link to steemit.com!

I believe doing just this 3, along side a customized message of your own, instead of what @fitzgibbon put up will lead to a more organic and natural trend, instead of a robotic like movement.

One thing I love about steemit is that we innovate and adapt. I personally haven't seen a crowd speaking platform being utilized like this before, but on here? we take over and turn things into ours. Discord is a very good example, many who aren't into gaming wouldn't believe that discord wasn't ever a steemit related site.

The following is an exempt from my last post on this;

Imagine a thousand people twitting at the same time and twitting about the same thing, that is the power of thunderclap! Giving power to the voice of the people via a single app.

So enough talk, lets jump in and know what to do ASAP

Steps to follow in moving this campaign

the message I crafted

The campaign message is expected to be broadcasted by January 9 around 3pm
head over to https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/66402-are-you-still-waiting and click the support button, thats all! You must have a twitter or facebook or tumblr account however. But I highly recommend twitter as thats where we really want it to trend. we should also do on facebook as well, something I see @ehiboss @samstickkz @misterakpan doing.

I though I lost my files again! please bqckup!!

So a funny incident happened to me today.
I use an HP laptop for most of my steemit related posting and movements. It also happens to be the laptop I use for music production and engineering. Over the years, the laptop has increasingly been showing signs of old age, ware and tear, and general slowdown, but for certain reasons I have refused to change it.
length
One of the chief reason is that I know the laptop inside out. Every repair done on it had been carried out by me, every software upgrade and security patches. There was even a time I apparently downloaded a spyware of some sort which massively slowed down my laptop, and to this day I secretly believe that someone somewhere is spying on me.

The second reason why I haven't changed it is because of all my optimization, shortcuts, and hotkeys I have mapped over the years for my music production and all that.

So now this laptop of old, HP 650 to be exact has crashed on me a few times, the latest being sometime after the middle of last year, and back then I was super glad I had backed up most of my musical files.

However luck was not smiling on me as the hard drive I used in backing up my files went missing a little after the SIN program we held in ile-ife.

with that gone, I had to start from scratch again, 2 years in a roll did I do this, because as at 2016, I had lost my files to a crash.

The SIN program ran in November 2017, and I promised myself I was going to backup my crypto files, and other files in a cloud based platform, and ultimately print all the information I needed out.

But from that time till now, I did nothing of the sorts, and basically had only 2 file which contained all my steemit keys (posting, active, owner, memo and main)

Can you imagine! If my laptop was stolen or the screen broke or something, the only other way I would have been able to access my steemit account would have been through my phone!(which in the case of an armed robbery would have been stolen as well!)

So the incident that happened goes like this; I sat down to begin steeming at around a little past 11pm, I tried to put on my laptop, but for some reason it wouldn't come on. I try and try again, but nothings happening.

At this point, I was already starting to get nervous and panicking. Things flying through my head included; a fried motherboard from not letting enough air through, a bad fan port, a damaged power supply button.

At this point, all I could think about was blaming myself for not backing up my data.

I spent a good amount of time opening the laptop up with unconventional tools like nails, knives, a small screw driver that doesn't quite fit etc.

At last I found out the problem, the power button apparently is faulty right now.

All these rants, why?!

Well, to cut it all short, as the heading suggests, backing up data, especially crypto data, is far more important than you may realize.

Ive seen cases whereby people couldn't remember their pass phrase, or private key to their wallets. I personally have lost the 12 word pass phrase given to me for my samorai wallet for btc, but im sure glad I had only a very very very small amount there( which might be worth something major in the future).

The go to cloud service for file saving for me is dropbox.

Drop box enable you to save up to 2GB of data for free on their servers, without you paying a dime. This is really really good, considering that cryptos keys aren't large at all, unlike other files you might be saving, most times it will just be maybe a word document, or a pdf file that you would want to upload.

TO get access, first you have to head to https://www.dropbox.com/ and sign up after that, the next part you would want to do is to simply follow your email prompts, then sign in.

After that, the next step would be to simply drag and drop your files. Its essentially in the name, DROPbox.

Now as youre dealing with crypto files, I highly recommend you dont start going to fiddle with settings you dont understand. You could end up sharing the files between you and all your contacts via gmail and trust me, thats not something you want to happen.

If you have a lot of files you wish to upload, you can also create a new folder, and name it whatever you want to contain your crypto files.

Screenshot (742).png

and last but not least, you should enable 2-step verification to ensure maximum security on your dropbox. I recommend this because everything relating to cryptos right now is just a big mess. With decentralization everywhere, and hackers trying to get rich by stealing coins etc.

With cryptos, you can never be too careful, maximum security is needed, tomorrow or next, I am gonna print out my passwords, pins, pass phrases etc.

If you do not fancy dropbox. you can decide to check out this list of cloud storage facilities, some with encryption, others without

There ain't no way imma lose my files.

Thanks!

Congratulations to height attend, as regards backing up file, backing up your files in crypto business is very essencial to avoid lost and stories that touches the heart.

yes o, 100% essential, man cannot have HBP because of coins.

Wow very educative and inspiring, thanks for this information, i really learn from this . i'm joing the champaign now

thanks! great to see you doing this!

I have told everyone about steemit, doing so it not only benefits them but ownself too.lets make steemit viral.

big, large and viral!

I am so paranoid I have my keys located in a safety deposit box in the bank along with a copy in a fire proof safe and I have another copy in another trusted safe location just in case.

wow, thats some security you got lady. But if you have a good amount there, then being paranoid is a bit ok I guess.

I figure this way if STEEM does get to the predicted level of $1000 per token in 2022 then my account is already worth a million dollars, as long as I don't cash out till it reaches that. So yeah I want to make sure if something happens my device crashes, or a fire were to happen, that I am covered.

Supporting this project is just the awesome to do.

I know youre already on it, even before I posted, theres no way you could have missed it.

One cannot be too careful in crypto business, the dual authentication is an added security. Quite a good project to campaign for.

never too careful. Its the best project to campaign for

Congrats...... @destinysaid. Backing up your files in crypto business is reasonable and acceptable to adapt to prevent files from missing. @destinysaid.

yes brother, thats how it ought to be.
