Have you ever sat at your front yard with a storm approaching ? The weather all dark and gloomy, winds all gusty and looming, and then without warning light flashes straight down in front of you, searing the lawn?

I assume not, those are the sort of things we see in movies, filtered to near gray scale so you know its an ominous scene they are trying to create.

But in this very situation, that is what it feels like. See a thunderclap is just exactly what I explained up there. An unexpected and sudden occurrence.

Well, that's pretty much self explanatory(though for those who might want to correct me, yes, lighning and thuder are different).

Its funny, the website is actually thunderclap.it. So first of all, I would like to thank @FitzGibbon for actually doing this. When I saw the post, I immediately went to research what thunderclap is and this is what I was able to deduce.

Thunderclap is an app that allows you to broadcast a social media message or idea, in any of 3 platforms (facebook, twitter or tumblr). The magic of thunderclap is that rather thn have lets say 100 people posting about the ideology or message at different times, it allows us to send out a message, all at the same time.

This is wonderful because its just like crowdfunding. When you have an idea, you ask people for help, they donate money to fund your project until you reach your goal, upon which you can either run away and disappear with the money or stay and actually do the project.

However, unlike crowdfunding funds, this is something called crowd-speaking ,and here, your voice isnt stolen or something.

Essentially, you are lending your voice for a cause that will be spread round all at once.

@fitzgobbin has already started the campaign, of which commendation must be given to him. But as Nigerians, I want us to lend our voice on this too. Those of us on twitter who are active me(@afrosteem on twitter), @greenrun @ogochukwu @maryfavour and all others have a possibility of making this trend as well on Nigeria twitter! I actually saw the tweet by greenrun a few hours back.

Imagine a thousand people twitting at the same time and twitting about the same thing, that is the power of thunderclap! Giving power to the voice of the people via a single app.

So enough talk, lets jump in and know what to do ASAP

head over to https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/66402-are-you-still-waiting and click the support button, thats all! You must have a twitter or facebook or tumblr account however. But I highly recommend twitter as thats where we really want it to trend. we should also do on facebook as well, something I see @ehiboss @samstickkz @misterakpan @tojukaka doing.

So lets go and make it rain steem on twitter and other socials!

I would advice that rather than use @fitzgibbon tweet or message, personalize it to fit your community, your nation, your country or continent.

That way, it is a more organic trend, rather than an automatic robot seeming like response, like a DDOS attack or something.
