RE: THE IMPLICATION OF BID BOT to THE FUTURE OF STEEMIT| Quality has no place on steemit anymore
Hey Raymond,
Well said! I touched on this topic in my witness declaration, see the link below. Especially for minnows I think it is very important. Using bid bots will most likely harm long-term prospects but gives short-term gratification. almost like a drug...
Facebook use likes for that very reason ( dopamine ) bid-bots seem to give people the same rush, almost like a mini high, and like any drug, they come back for another fix day after day. Or if possible multiple times a day. :-)
Normal upvotes should give the same kick. :)
Imagine being curated and receiving big upvotes after producing some awesome content. Wouldn't that actually be 10x more exciting? Ah! But that requires, of course, to put in the work to produce that content. Bid bots don't care about that.... 😜
I rest my case your honour.
it's the most effective strategy now that's why people are using them. The only way to change is as it was intended is to make fundamental Changes and incentivise manual curation. I only manually curate, never sold my vote or autovoted and it's very effective if You use it preoperly and are taking advantage of Tools like SteemFollower. The bid bots aren't the problem they way the system is structured att and as You say it's very hard to get noticed without them atm...
It is hard, though I feel it my duty to myself, to get noticed and supported for the right reasons, and not just because of a perceived notion that my writing is worth more than it actually is just because I use bots, I can liken it to haejin, he has a perceived massive appeal based on 1 up-voter, that has got him 25000+ followers in 9 months. Take away ranch and he is left with a hundred 0.00 to 0.01cent votes. Is it the right way to go for me (no bidbots) only time will tell I suppose. I added you to following and look forward to talking to you again.
I'm glad we share same view @danielsaori
