Introducing a Promo-Steem Idea- feature allowing for enhanced exposure to mentions

I recently created a post on The Art of Knowing Yourself, a challenge by @tamacvet, and I noticed something in terms of steemian's overall exposure to mentions. I nominated 5 of my fellow steemians to take part in this very challenge at the end of my post, and realized that many of them didn't even know I referred to their moniker. I actually had to visit their blog, click on a recent post of theirs, and then drop a comment in the thread section in order for them to realize that I had mentioned them for a nomination.

If you do not have a mentions tool like 'Steemitmoreinfo' for example, then you will have no way of knowing that somebody mentioned you in their post, unless you somehow stumble upon it because you just so happen to be online at the same time or you click on it from your feed. We all know this is rather unlikely, however, because many of us operate on different schedules and also live in different parts of the world in differing time zones.

If someone replies to a comment of yours or one of your posts, then you are able to see this when you hit the replies tab. There really should be the exact same feature built into steemit such that when someone mentions you, you are immediately aware of this. This really should be possible without having to download a separate tool or feature to do so (which I have come to find doesn't even work, at least for Steemitmoreinfo, a majority of the time).

I have the Steemitmoreinfo tool as a Chrome extension and this allows me to see some really beneficial info. such as, my voting power, the number of votes I have casted that day, the dollar/percent upvote I have received from other users, etc. This feature also has a mentions tab, but I have found that for some reason it refuses to work on a consistent basis. When I click on this tab it just buffers and buffers and nothing ever happens. So why not build in a feature directly on the steemit platform to help with this issue?

What I am really trying to get across is that there are many features that can ultimately be improved upon in order to better the overall steem blockchain and cohesiveness which it warrants its users. The users, creators and curators are what gives steemit value, so enhancing the capability of certain characteristics like this will ultimately allow for more and more people to see the success that they are working so hard to see.

Many times new users who blog for a short time and don't see success just give up because it is difficult to get noticed. The steem blockchain is still in an infancy stage, so it makes sense that not everything is perfect here, but there are many operational features that could ultimately be improved upon in order to help with getting exposure.

Now, I am not a programmer or developer by any means, so I really don't know how to add or refine features like this, but I know we have some very talented steemians out there who know how to do things like this. If you have any backend coding experience and know how to implement features like this, then this could be a wonderful opportunity to help steem(it) grow and promote the steem blockchain altogether.

Let's help find a solution to better overall exposure rates and visualization on the platform, it will only benefit us as we continue full steem ahead!!
