No one will be willing to walk past 9,999 other individuals to get to you without the guarantee that you have something to offer that makes you different from the rest.
This is where personal development becomes the key to outstanding performance in life. Our university systems produce hundreds of thousands annually and all of these guys add up to the already existing queue in the labour markets.

Why would anyone hire you and not the next person without the guarantee that you are different and that your skill-set is worth more?

You Have to Distinguish yourself

If the school teaches what it does to many others just like you, you have to add more spice to the meal you’re trying to sell to the world. The bottom line is this,

Don’t taste like the rest…

You have to add something to what you do that makes you peculiar, an additional quality that separates you from every other person.

I have been caught up in different conversations with steemians of both high and low reputes in this ecosystem and the conclusion to the grind we have here seems to be;

you will never deserve more than what you have to offer.

You will have to create value for the value you will be rewarded with. I have a couple of steemians I follow on steemit.com. I look forward to the posts of most of these guys because I know that each time they put a content up, there is a measure of value for me in terms of the relevance of the information they publish through their handles.

What is your motive; Success or value?

One of the men that taught me the fundamental principles of success kept on ringing these words to my hearing;

do not seek to be successful, but seek to be a person of value…

Success is only an implication of something else. Whenever you create value that the world around you and beyond perceives to be authentic, they are willing to pay you for it.

the world will never pay you beyond what they think you’re worth. That worth is what you have to keep defining based on the quality of the contents you produce.

The community will define your success. You are going to have some people impressed by your works and once that happens, they will pay you based what you decide the cost should be.

There has been a debate on what our expectations should be

A few days ago we got an update from Steemit Inc. stating the fact that the community expects too much from the Steemit Inc. team. This bear period is in my opinion an era of opportunity; a time when we should all look for a place to fit into and make our role in this community relevant.

the period seems to be a little gloomy but the sun is on its way. Here are a couple things to do in my opinion;

• Read the works done by other people here on steemit, and looks for what’s not here already and make a commitment to produce them.
• Learn from the best. We have steemians that are the best in their own area of specializations. These areas range from crypto-analysis to poems and poetries.
• Expect to make nothing. We have participated on other platforms other than steemit.com I presume and it’s okay to blog expecting to make nothing at first in my personal opinion.

This is not the time to start jumping from one community to the other. Now is the time to look for a community to stay committed to and in the end, you will become indispensable. The bull-run is on the way and I hope you make the most of these gloomy times. The conclusion is to keep focusing on producing more value in terms of contents produced via your blogs. Be committed to quality. Success is only a product of the creation of value.

PHASE 1:

At this stage, we teach some minnows at our offline classroom to help attain self-sustenance. These minnows will then work with us as a team, reproducing other minnows. Currently, we have just wrapped up with Phase 1. And Phase 2 which is more demanding kicked off already. We have already recorded a track which you’ll find @theminnowschool. We are also in the process of recording a next track but the negotiation is still ongoing.

PHASE 2:

This basically is the core of the vision is to raise steem-backed entrepreneurs of young people. The method through which we execute the absolute idea goes as follows;

• SKILL ACQUISITION PROJECTS: where various skills will be taught to foster the emergence of new entrepreneurs that thrive on voluntarism.

• THE MINNOW SCHOOL TALENT HUNT: we greatly hope to give minnows who are not really writers but have other gifts such as singing, painting, dancing, acting a platform to express themselves and get their creativity beyond their minds. Basically, we are giving these young people a voice and ultimately awaken the writer in them.

• THE MINNOW SCHOOL ART/MUSIC EXHIBITIONS: here talented young people will get to showcase their talents and the value they have to offer to the community. We will be sponsoring art projects and professional music careers will emerge with this.
