Today, I was pondering over the various factors that determine the exchange rate of fiat currencies and make them so stable over a long period of time. However, cryptos on the other hand crash every now and then; being characterized by a very high level of volatility. They literally have little or no stability and there are no common standard to measure their value.

I was able to zero this down from a generalized level to the subject of the utility of cryptos. Come to think of it, the Offline economy is sustainable because it is tied to tangible things. We use cryptos as store of value and that's a problem because there are no genuine promises unlike the conventional money creation processes where centralized governments control the rate of their currencies..

The common utility of cryptos is speculations

Even the best hodlers do hodl to sell off once the Bull Run begins. However, if we tie the utility of cryptos to tangible things, we can always have its primary function (medium of exchange) fulfilled. Steem for example can have sustainable value if we tie its value to tangible things just like we’ve been having proposals suggesting this over the last couple of months.

We need to come up with strategies that will make STEEM useful to even folks who don't desire to have anything to do with steemit.com or any of the existing Dapps.

Some will never find enough time for content creation and curation and unfortunately, some of these folks are the ones who have got the money to size-up the market capitalization of STEEM.

We need more use-cases beyond what we already have on ground. The value of any commodity is tied to its utility. This is what we need to do about STEEM at this point in time.

The key here is to create utility for steem using the decentralized apps model.

We need Decentralized Autonomous Communities. We need a community of people using their expertise and resource to create actual value for STEEM. Steem Monster has been killing it in this aspect. Oracle-D has also established a model that will rapidly increase the demand for STEEM as they communicate the power of this blockchain to potential investors. All these are initiatives that we need everywhere around here.

We used to sell steem on the basis or transaction speed and fee but that's not a good enough reason to make someone who isn't even interested in cryptos interested in steem, besides we have other blockchains that have even faster transaction confirmation time.

I'm writing this to urge our developers and promoters to work together. Developers can create more interesting platforms or Dapps on the blockchain and promoters make some noise about it just to attract the outside world; especially potential investors.

PHASE 1:

At this stage, we teach some minnows at our offline classroom to help attain self-sustenance. These minnows will then work with us as a team, reproducing other minnows. Currently, we have just wrapped up with Phase 1. And Phase 2 which is more demanding kicked off already. We have already recorded a track which you’ll find @theminnowschool. We are also in the process of recording a next track but the negotiation is still ongoing.

PHASE 2:

This basically is the core of the vision is to raise steem-backed entrepreneurs of young people. The method through which we execute the absolute idea goes as follows;

• SKILL ACQUISITION PROJECTS: where various skills will be taught to foster the emergence of new entrepreneurs that thrive on voluntarism.

• THE MINNOW SCHOOL TALENT HUNT: we greatly hope to give minnows who are not really writers but have other gifts such as singing, painting, dancing, acting a platform to express themselves and get their creativity beyond their minds. Basically, we are giving these young people a voice and ultimately awaken the writer in them.

• THE MINNOW SCHOOL ART/MUSIC EXHIBITIONS: here talented young people will get to showcase their talents and the value they have to offer to the community. We will be sponsoring art projects and professional music careers will emerge with this.
