My Chicken Farming Project Has Started From Today
Hello Dear steemians, Today I joined with a partnership business offered by my elder brother few days ago. During our childhood, my brother was only elder member after my father. He had lot of responsibility and couldn't continue study. As we were big family with 10 siblings, it was hard for my father. My brother admitted in a youth empowerment training and successfully completed a course on chicken farming. I was still used to go slum school and my brother was looking for loan to start a business. One of his friend offered him to join with his business idea but this project least 2 years.
Later, one of our uncle gave loan to start chicken farm business and we started our own chicken farming business in our house which was turning point of our financial stability. I admitted in a private primary school and later high school. Suddenly, bird flu came and people stopped eating chicken though our chicken had not affected. We later closed the business because of gap and lack of capital.

He is going to start chicken farming business again with his friend. The land owner is his friend and he is share with 50/50 about investment and profit. The land has no rent as the owner is involved with the business. Electricity and water lines are ready already and the farm around ready for new babies.

Today, I visited the farm as our school @SchoolForSDG4 now off after annual exam. You can see he was working in the empty farm. The preparation is almost finished. We got a loan from one of his friend who lives in Japan. But the friend will not give enough loan. So he asked me to give him some money as loan. But I asked him why not you make partner @SchoolForSDG4 as we have some coming fund. He agreed and discussed about some measurement roughly like.
food and vaccination 80 BDT
staff salary 2.5 BDT per month per chicken
electricity bill 2.5 Per month per chicken
So roughly , it will cost 125 BDT per chicken in a month. And the most chicken will become 1.5 KG within one month which current market price is 110 -115 BDT per KG. So 1.5 KG chicken will be around 165 BDT. And profit will be (165 - 125) = 40 BDT per chicken.
Later we changed our plan after discussion with our @pennsif @Lindahas and @kenny-carne . It was really decision as I never thought something out of the box. So I decided to be partner investing in 200 chickens instead 500 chickens from school funds.
As I am not sure about how much I will get for charity at the end so I should not use the fund with such private business partnership. Though, I don't want to depends on donation life time to support my kids but to do something sustainable that will generate revenue long term.

I am so excited about the chicken farm as I did so hard work in our own farm when I was high school student and sometimes had to go door to door to sell chickens. I will share update about my farming project. Most of the investment fund came from my personal blogging on steemit. So, I am really happy to share as steemit changed lot for me and I want to keep sharing my journey.

I was glad to hear about the Chicken Business on Discord. I do think it could be a good business but it's a bit risky to put charity money into it now.
I might be interested in investing in the Chicken Business. Is the business looking for more money to buy more chickens or do you have enough already?
Looks like 125 BDT = 1.5 USD so 50 chickens might be $75. Maybe I can buy 50 chickens for $75 and then when they are sold, I would ask to use the income to buy 50 more chickens and whatever profit is left, I would give to the School. It might be an interesting experiment. I would do this for at least 3 cycles. After that I'll see how the experiment went and decide if I want to make any changes, like maybe take a little profit for myself or whatever I decide! :) We can talk about this if you want. I could pay for the chickens with Steem or maybe another way.

This will be nice to experiment. To do this, I will probably can expand my share in the business from 200 chickens to 250 chickens and keep you update about how your 50 chickens makes profit ?
As all the amount are roughly discussed but hopefully this will not be more than 125 BDT.
