PomoDoneApp: a Simple but Flexible Tool for Time and Task Management

PomoDoneApp is an app / web service which in its simplest implementation serves as a periodic alarm signalizing time to start and end work alternating with relax time. The app’s advanced features allow for workflow tracking and integrate with task management and note taking services such as Trello, Todoist, Wunderlist, Evernote, Google Calendar and many others.

A typical PomoDoneApp user spends a lot of time in front of a computer or desk and is often overwhelmed with tasks, information, and interruptions. PomoDoneApp helps keeping focus on a single task during a fixed amount of time and allows for relaxing breaks. It’s a great tool for coders, writers, researchers, or students.

PomoDoneApp is made to be a perfect app for Pomodoro Technique® by Francesco Cirillo helping to chunk time into fixed blocks as I described in detail in my previous post. The app can be also used for timeboxing in Agile methodology (i.e. constraining time available for an activity to help focus on value).

How to Get PomoDoneApp Up and Running in Under 5 Minutes

  1. Create a free account. Confirm your email address after you receive the confirmation email and set up your password and time zone.
  2. Now you can use the free web app or download a standalone app (has both free and paid versions). The app will signal you when to start or stop working and you can enter tasks and projects for easy time tracking.
  3. Optional: if you wish to connect the app to your existing task management service for free, you can set it up from your profile page. You can then select which projects, boards, calendars and notebooks you'd like to track time using PomoDoneApp.
