Stunning 3DPrinted Objects (part 4) - "The Office of the Future" Real Today

in #printing3d7 years ago (edited)

Spring last year, Dubai had the honour to show the world the possibilities to build fully equipped modern offices in less than 3 weeks, using 3D printing technology. The office was designed in modules; each module was printed before it was shipped to it's final destination, the Emirate Towers area, and build together and connected with energy, communication, water infrastructure. It is said that due to using 3D printing technology, the labour costs was reduced with more than 50%.

"The Office of the Future" project showcases the enormous potential of 3D printing technology. 3D printing reduces costs, reduces amount of logistics, allows local instead of remote, therefore it will become the defacto standard in building construction in the future. For this technology, I believe the future is rather close by, whether it be 10 or 20 years; most of us will be around to see the tipping point, from manual construction to fully automated construction. In an earlier post I already talked about several projects and initiatives for quick and inexpensive 3D printied housing (https://steemit.com/printing3d/@edje/stunning-3dprinted-objects-part-3-pinting-a-solid-house-in-less-than-24-hours-for-less-than-5-000ususd) offering the opportunity for more people to have a solid roof over their head.

For those interested, more about the project on their website: http://officeofthefuture.ae/#

Stay tuned for more amazing 3D printed constructions, and projects.
