Stunning 3DPrinted Objects (part 3) - Pinting A Solid House In Less Than 24 Hours For Less Than 5.000US$

In my series on stunning 3D printed objects, this time I like to inform you on the possibilities to print solid houses in less than 24 hrs. Actually, with the right number of printers and material, it is possible to print 1.5 Million houses in a period of 5 years, equal to a stunning 822 houses per day; At least that is what has been agreed between the Saudi government (the Client) and the Chinese company WinSun (the Supplier). The houses is expected to cost no more than 5.000US$.

With such speed and such low prices, and the ever decreasing costs for solar power, we are only a few steps away from the ability to provide each individual on our planet earth a solid roof over their head.

Last year a US company Sunconomy announced their plans to print a house in a day. Together with a Russian based printing company they plan to hit the market with low cost 3D printed houses. End of last year they announced a crowd funding campaign to finance the startup of their activities. Unfortunately their campaign for a home for veterans in the USA (as a gift), did not provide the sufficient funds; however they claim not to stop and find other ways of funding. Today Sunconomy is already providing sustainable housing, using shipping containers, the base of their Tiny Houses concept.

While this post reports on affordable 3d printed houses, many concepts of design houses and buildings are created in last couple of years, some of them in the process of turning around into projects. I will brief on some of the most amazing concept in future posts.
