Is It Cheaper to Buy a Printer or Go to the Copy Shop??

If you are someone with loads of things to print, then it is advisable to get your own printer. You will be able to save lots of money then. But if you are someone who take print occasionally, then I strongly recommend going to a copy shop instead of purchasing a printer. I had the same question in my mind when I bought my new desktop. But I was in college during those days and was not sure about the importance of having a printer at home.
For my college works I used to take lots of print outs and made use of it but later during my holidays and other days where I don't take print outs, I realized that having a home printer was not so great. It is not a good investment to make if you do not have enough items to take print out.
Drawbacks of buying a printer for home needs
Printers require lots of maintenance. It is not quite easy to have a printer at home and sit back without taking any prints. Even if you don't have any necessity to take printouts, you have to be taking at least a few copies every month to make sure the printer ink is intact. If you do not make use of the printer cartridge, there is a high possibility that it can go waste. It become rigid over time and will not be usable.
Having a printer at home
If you are sure that you will have necessities to take lots of print outs, then you can definitely go and purchase a printer. Few things that you can consider before buying a printer.
- It is advisable to buy a printer with an ink tank instead of a regular cartridge. The ink tank will sustain longer compared to the cartridge when the printer is not in use.
- Consider buying a printer with a facility to scan as well. Nowadays the combo is available for cheap rates. With that you will be able to fulfil two needs with just one device.
- If you purchasing a printer for you commercial place then purchase a printer that is suitable for that purpose. Nowadays there are different types of printers available. Commercial printers are cheaper than regular printers that can fulfil your exact requirement.

The irony of course is the printing machine is often relatively inexpensive compared to the ink you put in it! The manufactures make the money on the cartridges, and suck people in with very inexpensive hardware. Laser printers can be more hardware wise, but long term the toner does not degenerate and you can often find more readily available compatible cartridges at more reasonable prices.

Yes so true @c0ff33a. I have seen offers where if you buy cartridges, you get your printer for free. 😀 Thanks for stopping by.
