Something Different? Urgh Disgusting!
Sometimes when I learn about something that is so different and foreign to how I usually see/do things, I get a little bit weird. I feel shocked and awed that a different way to mine could exist - how could it?! No way!! It can't be! I cannot fathom how it could possibly work. It doesn't make any sense! But in truth, I haven't even considered it at all. If I give in to that initial revulsion to foreign concepts, how will I ever grow and learn? How will I ever come to understand people who are different to me, who have lived very different lives and who see the world (and themselves) so differently?
