A message for good people!

"I'm crowding 40 (70) and still wearing jeans"!
"I look in the mirror (window) in total surprise, at the hair (no more) on my shoulders and the age in my eyes"!
Lyrics from the song "Amanda" by Don Williams (1973)

Amazing all of the tricks that life plays on us!

This is my first entry in the #powerhousecreatives contest hosted by the great @zord189

A look at my life now in 2019 and hopefully here a bit of kind advice for others. Life is certainly not easy and if we let our guard down, it will be sure to leave us with regrets and broken hearts!

The beauty of nature, as can be seen by this little male Cape Batis, reminds me that life should be lived in peace of heart and in the beauty of kindness toward all others.
"Dust you are, and to dust you will return".
How can dust be important?
Come on people we can all of us improve our new year by getting our priorities sorted out. Kindness and support to each other costs nothing and it has huge benefits for the self and for others!!

Many self important persons have built monuments to themselves in this life over the centuries, but today they have all returned to dust. There is a set Golden Rule in life which can make things so much easier for us as we stumble from crisis to crisis. The Golden Rule states that we should treat ALL others as we ourselves want to be treated.

Here is a poem about life and how it is to be lived.

"Weaving our soul’s garments"

“We are all busy weavers. Forever are we throwing the shuttle backward and forward, each moment leaving one new thread in the web of our life, which shall stay there forever. Every thought, every feeling, every motion, every light fancy that plays but for a moment in the soul,
becomes a thread which is instantly a permanent part of the life we are living. Our words and acts are threads clean and beautiful or stained and blemished, according to their moral character.

Thus we are forever weaving, and the web that we
make our souls must wear in eternity. How important it is that we put into this fabric only threads of immortal beauty! If we do God’s will always, and train ourselves to think over God’s thoughts, and to receive into our heart the influences of God’s love and grace, and to yield ever and only to God’s Spirit, we shall weave for our souls a seamless robe of righteousness
which shall appear radiant and lovely when all earth’s garments have faded and crumbled to dust.”

(In Green Pastures – JR Miller 1927)

What I have done here, is not to look at myself but rather to show all others how we are meant to live. Sadly, things have changed in life and we are currently taught that each of us are the most important things in this life.
Why then do we wonder why the world is in such a disarray?
Think about it, and please read the poem.

I have been so busy that I haven't paid attention to the contests for the last few weeks, so I missed this one. But I will be entering the Moving In contest!

Thank you and glad that you also liked the poem my friend.
No idea what the moving in contest is, but hope that you do well in it.
Hope that you will have a great new year!
Blessings!

Howdy sir papilloncharity! Very true about how the young people are being taught these days, it breeds an unrealistic entitlement mentality. Great poem, great message, great photos..especially unique selfie! lol.
