Steemit Post Views Counter, Back to Square 1
Ok, apparently the external counter solution is not working properly as it does not seem to be counting actual visits made from steemit.com because of the way steemit.com works with images. So it seems that we'll have to wait for either an external counter service tailor made for steemit that will be allowed to be used on the website or for an official feature for post views getting implemented on the website.
The above was made clear by @dantheman who posted a comment with details under one of my Blog posts regarding the use of external counters. It seems that for the moment we are getting back to square 1 without a solution to accurately count the number of views our Blog posts on steemit.com get...

I'm a bit disappointed, but then again it is better to know that something does not work properly, than wonder why you are getting some strange results, like the discrepancy in the number of views reported by the counter and the number of votes that the post linked above had.
Unfortunately Dan has not yet replied to me asking if they are planning to allow an external counter service for steemit or to actually add a feature to steemit.com for showing the post views...
