Hostess of Casa Particular, or maybe Casa Extraordinaire … Trinidad, Cuba – Portrait Photography

This cheerful lady is the proprietor of a B&B (bed 'n' breakfast) in Trinidad, a charming old city on the south coast of Cuba. 

Exotic little city

Trinidad is a beautiful town of cobblestone streets and colonial buildings. Up a hill in the center of town, there’s a neo-baroque square where locals and tourists gather in the evening to listen to lively and entertaining music. And maybe sip some fine local rum while puffing on a fat cigar.   _{[Right-Click Here to Enlarge Photo]}

Particularly wonderful little “casa”

Since 1997, any homeowner in Cuba has been permitted to operate a “casa particular,” which is essentially a B&B. The sole guestroom in Lili’s “casa particular” was on the first floor, with a private entrance for guests directly on the cobblestone alley. So I had complete privacy. But if I wanted any advice or service from Lily, I only had to knock on the interior door to the kitchen.   

Each morning, Lili served me a very hearty breakfast. Furthermore, she made me lunch and dinner a few times, and each of those meals was made to my liking and was excellent.    

Just outside the entrance, the front wall of her “casa extraordinaire”  was painted a vibrant aqua blue. A perfect background for a portrait photo of Lili, the Cuban hostess “extraordinaire.”      Location – Trinidad, Cuba, on Google Maps
