My photo with Asia and... Trying retouch from scratchsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #portraitcontest6 years ago (edited)

I'm still looking for my style when it comes for a image rendering in Photoshop and this time I want to get this photo again from scratch. It's one from my session with Asia back in like almost month ago, still many great shoots to work on. I believe I will be back to this photo session many times as I'm supper happy about how it goes in the end.

This time instead of my current workflow (which is Capture One -> Photoshop) I did everything in ACR and some small tweaks in Photoshop. I tried to keep everything darker than usual as I have tendency to have things too bright in general. What do you think? Which one version like more? Would be happy for any feedback from you :)

Oh and yeah - It's mostly about colour rendering, yet wonder about the rest. Like a overall exposure, but a local exposure also.

  1. New approach (Photoshop only).

  1. Old approach (Capture One + Photoshop).

Sort:

I personally like the first one! Looks more natural yet the second one looks more polished and magazine ready!

Thanks for your input! Yes, after one day I took a fresh look at both of them and have same feeling. Best for me would be somewhere between them so... still looking something that works of well... :/

Thank you my friend for warm words, trying my best! Lemme know if I you're interested in any details of what I'm doing! Everything the best.

I see more of richness in color from your new approach in Photoshop. I like it. How do you normally upload your work from shoots? I can't help but want to see more from this shoot as well.

Happy to hear that It's somewhat richer (better?). I'm experimenting with different kind of colour rendering like few times in a month. Sometimes I even try to experiment within the same photo session. It get's pretty frustrating when I keep trying, but not satisfied with the results :(

About uploads from the shoots - I don't have a well working practice yet. I usually try to post one after another like once per day, I could also post all them at once, but then I have nothing to show next day :( It also means that If I do photosession, then I can't really share anything until I finish all pictures, which usually takes much longer than single photo. I also found out that people are more attracted when I post only one photo, but I might be wrong here.

As you might already notice I keep struggling with it - sometimes I post few shoots, sometime it's only one. I still have no real solution here. I trust that with time and experience I will find out something that fits both me and anyone that would be interested with what I do. I already posted few other shoots from this photosession if you're interested somewhere around my facebook page, but I will probably drop them also here on Steem in next days!

Thank you for your time stopping by in this overcrowded internet, it means a lot to me! Everything the best for you.
