This is a nice character :) And a great portrait. Did you have any refusals when people did not want to be photographed?
thank you David ! from the start it was like 50/50 but just in a few weeks i went to something like 90% of agreements ! i was so excited by this - some of people just continued to talk with me about 30min - you know everybody need attention and when people do feel an interest to their person - you can listen for the endless stories of their life. somehow i stopped to do this in the regular way, just sometimes i still ask but really less - i just have much more opportunities to shot people and got some skills to be immediately ready :-)
sorry for this long answer :-)
Long answers are the ones i like :) I also like talking to the people, it's not just an image them, but also a story that can go with the shot. I have made quite a few acquaintances while doing this kind of street photography, and yes, you are right, the success rate improves with time and experience greatly. And makes you a much more free as a personality. So win win for all :)
so indeed ! iI am thankful to street photography for the skills i got to be ready ASAP and to know exactly what a exposure settings i need for some or other look. and even i quit this street photography in terms of the genre, but i use these skill everywhere for my portraits, band photography and documentary
