Pelosi Speech Yesterday - The Beatles

in #politics6 years ago

"The love you take is equal to the love you make." After listening to the speech by Nancy Pelosi yesterday it was apparent that she had never heard the iconic line from The Beatles song 'The End'.

Listening to her speech on Wednesday was painful.  Don't get me wrong, like most people I want to see things get back to where they were about 20 years ago where Congress was decent and civil but you can't resist everything for no reason one week and then expect people to work with you the next.  That's not how life ever has worked.

The truth is that Pelosi knows the attention span of the average sheep is roughly 10 to 15 minutes.  This is especially true for the people that vote for her.  By knowing this, she knows that no matter what she was preaching a week ago her constituents will think that she has turned the corner...again...for the 10th time in her lengthy career.  Well, I have news, she hasn't and that'll come out in the open as soon as the first new cabinet pick is made considering the Senate approves the Presidents Cabinet picks.  Since Pelosi has no say it wouldn't matter if Trump picked Mother Theresa, Pelosi would claim that all Americans will die.

The List of Pelosi's Doomsday Hoaxes and Blunders

  1. " We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it."  I know this is in itself it not exactly a doomsday hoax but how many times has she said "Americans will die" without it?  What extremely interesting about this is the Snopes.com fact check.  They actually label it as "Mixture"!  Seriously?!? There is video of it.  The entire house heard her say it but it's a "Mixture" of true and false?  Give me a break!  Trump got labeled a "False" for saying at a rally that Rasmussen had his approval rate at 46%.  The truth is that it was 47%.  For once Trump under-reported himself and that was fact checked.
  2. "Crumbs".  That's how Pelosi terms the GOP tax cut.  When it comes to the super rich, I can see how it can be hard to grasp what a $1000 bonus is to someone who makes $48k per year.  It's relatively low to the amount that she pulls in on a monthly monthly basis but it's 25% of the total amount the worker pulls in a month.  Ms. Pelosi shouldn't have the luxury of not understanding this since she is supposedly a public servant (My wife just walked by and saw this sentence and is laughing uncontrollably right now).
  3. "Armageddon".  Well, I'm still here so the good lord must have spared at least me.  Unless all the users on the Steemit platform are the saved ones we can assume that the end of the world hasn't come.  How on earth could a tax cut be labeled as Armageddon?  From what I saw, the only thing that ensued was a better economy.  The better economy was led by small business.  You know, the ones that benefited on the front end from the tax cuts.  It's their optimism that has led to hiring beyond the countries capacity to labor.  They are the ones that provided the consumer with the means to further the economic boom that has ensued since Trump assumed the presidency.  Using the labor, providing them with bonuses and raises and that labor force spending the money is what has gotten us the the opposite of Armageddon, prosperity.
  4. "I need a bigger paycheck".  This one is pretty funny.  In the late days of 2017 and early 2018 when the unemployment rate was dropping Ms. Pelosi needed to find something negative she could add.  Well, she decided to use wages.  The full quote was "Hip hip hooray, unemployment is down. What does that mean to me in my life? I need a bigger paycheck".  Well, I'll start with the fact that she is filthy rich.  A lifelong "public servant" who is filthy rich.  In 2015 her net worth per her personal financial disclosure form was between $42 million and $202 million.  This seems  like a lot but she in only the 4th richest California legislator.  She managed to pull this off on a $174k per year salary.  I want her as my financial adviser.  On this same quote, it was reported by the federal reserve that during 2018 American workers saw the largest wage increase in 18 years.  So, a pro-business White House and a healthy economy aren't so bad huh?  I mean you have to work for it but it seems worth working for.

There are tons of examples and I just don't feel like listing them all day but I think you get the picture.

The people spoke and gave her a majority in the House a couple days ago.  That's how it works and you won't find any Republican's rioting in the streets.  One thing is for sure though:  This election will be remembered by more Americans than any mid-term election in history judging by turn-out.  We have people paying attention and I think the economy of the next two years will be noticed and the electorate will (hopefully) adjust accordingly.
