A very interesting point raised.

My problem with political ideologies is that most do not take the time to consider what they believe. It is akin to religion. Is it any wonder most Americans who identify themselves as religious are Christian? Parents raise their kids in the same "faith" they were born into. Political ideologies are the same way. Sure some actually question and break the indoctrination yet most do not.

The other issue I have is that the ideology tends to be fluid. For example, one party, when not in control, against everything even if it is part of their ideology. "Being right" is the most important thing.

Personally, I took a step back a number of years ago and questioned it all. Thank you for bringing up these points.
