Political Ideologies Losing It's Effectiveness

in #politics7 years ago

Well, I live in a politically controversial country named Turkey. We can't even do politics without mixing religion in to politics. Therefore most of the time we are quite bad with our political ideologies and application of politics. I always avoided to discuss politics and religion in my entire life because I really think talking with those topics won't take me further. However I think that even the most common ideologies like right and left political views losing it is affectiveness. Because even most opposite views can agree on some topics and they can find common denominator in the recent era.

Geert Wilders and Bernie Sanders

Why do I think like this ?

The technology is developing everyday and this makes so much easier to access every kind of information for anyone in the world. We can easily learn new information everyday if we know how to benefit from this accesibility. Eventhough it is quite hard to change ideas on certain topic beleive me or not it is shaping in daily with all the information flow. Most important part is we don't feed our ideas from single source and I really think because of this phenemenon ideologies losing its affectiveness. If you look at the most solid based common doctrines got tons of branch under one idea. Therefore you can find similarities even in the most opposite doctrines to your ideology.

In our societies people describe themselves as capitalists , socialists , fundamentalists , anarchists or many more labels like this. Eventhough concept of these ideologies really broad it doesn't cover all the ideas you have. It is quite likely that even the people who follow can start to argue on some core teaching of one of these ideologies. What is the reason for this ? I think it is because of this accesability to information issue.

It is the era of integration therefore it is quite old school to hold the society in right and left ideology even in undeveloped countries there are really few parties that can be considered as 100 percent left or right wing party. I can't say this for Generation X or older generations because they continue their habits but the young generation already left this kind of seperation with or without knowing.

Thanks for Reading & I Really Looking for Your Ideas In This Topic

Undoubtedly, using religion to support political agenda and actions is one of the saddest realities of under-developed and developing part of the world. I'm from Pakistan, and due to the high illiteracy rate in my country, it's really easy for politicians to use religion as their main weapon whenever the need arises.

In my view, a nation that believes, relies and depends heavily on one fundamental religion, the fine line becomes even finer that differentiates religion from everything else - political views, societal norms and way of living. It becomes even harder when you're aware of your literacy rate, because an uneducated mind would not have the capacity to question any set of laws or regulations that a government may impose. Political ideologies will keep mixing with the religious preaching and all the doctrines followed and practiced by that specific society or a country as a whole, and that is where the 'rights' and 'wrongs' of politics become rather subjective.

Well I don't know much about politics in Pakistan but I assume that every middle east country having similar problems in the practice of politics. When we consider pakistan is 200 million country and as you said when we add that literacy rate it is quite easy to manipulate masses with far fetched political policies.

Yes, and not just middle-east countries, I strongly believe the problem is the same even with other parts of the world when it comes to 'controlling the mob' due to the high dependence and low tolerance when it comes to religion.

I agree "right" and "left" have lost a lot of their meaning, in our current environment it strikes me that "establishment" and "anti-establishment" have more meaning.

I hear a lot of things about secularism too :D

Thanks for post @steeminator3000, postmodernism has affected to get personal thinking through to the life of people in all of the world I think. Oxford dictionary called Post -Truth Era to present and I think new era we are living will increase the individuality without traditional ideologies and will establish new approaches.

the changing time have led to a shift in the way we think and conduct our selves this is seen in the millennial and the way they carry themselves. i agree their is a shift in ideologies and tech is accelerating this drift

I think in exact similar way too

If there is a feeling that participation has no worth because the elected people do different things they promised the participation rate goes down.

The ideologies only serve to encompass and move the mass of the electorate as livestock. In practice, those who govern are people and groups of people, that is to say when you vote you do not do it for one or another ideology or political or economic tendency, you really vote for a candidate, his work team, the individuals that make up his party and Of course, those who finance it can not be absent.

I think that when you choose an ideology, right or left, you are closing to the possibility of seeing beyond what an ideological label represents. I liked reading you @ steeminator3000

Good post. In America it is becoming similar. Maybe not as religious, but it impossible for people to separate politics among other things.
