RE: Solodad: Canadian Poll for Gun Control, Get on there and vote tougher penalties for gun violence

in #politics7 years ago (edited)

I don't need first world status or a gun to be safe. I'm already saved.
However, I would like to help save the life of anyone being shot at. In a mass shooting or simple robbery. If the same situation were to unfold and I had no firearm. I would leave. You and your family would potentially die or be injured. Do you see how that sucks for you? The person not carrying a gun.
If the laws changed. A person wanting to carry and or conceal carry. Would need to pass current rpal test. Would need to pass a standardized tactical carry and conceal course. Be certified in use of force by an independent private security firm. Approved by the Canadian government. Clear background checks. Tested for psychiatric issues that would or could impair the choice to implement use of force. As well as a mandatory conflict resolution course. Outlining best practices for deescalation also privately contracted. Lastly you would be on a registered carry conceal list. It would act as a guarantee of your competence to a court in the event. Use of force becomes necessary. I'm using the term "use of force" to encompass home defense or self defense in public as well as in situations with dangerous aggressors. In public. Where intervention would be acceptable.

Why do you need an example so badly? Governments get involved in peoples affairs and mess things up. We are losing the ability to self regulate. In a perfect world. We wouldn't have to deal with any of this. In a near perfect world. I would block chain the whole mess. With the above mentioned criteria incorporated. Present it as a private company contract to the Canadian Government.

We can't fight their systems but we can replace them. I do have my restricted license as it stands. I don't take my "privilege."not my "right". To posses acquire and operate firearms lightly. I teach my daughter the fundamentals of firearm safety. With Nerf rifles. My guns are too heavy and big for her at the moment. She's 4 just started kindergarten. She will be putting her first rounds down range in the near future. Its important to train for safety sake. A few days ago she walked with an empty bow pointed in a safe direction. Announced loudly "safe direction!" Talk about peace of mind. Exactly what I want. Safety becomes automatic. I and many like me are ready and waiting for that change.

P.S. Don't even get me started on classification.

Lol I was kinda thinking the same thing, maybe I shouldn't have asked :p

Sounds like you have a system all figured out, now you just need to find a way to implement it. They say sometimes the best way to make something big happen is to chip away at it slowly, looks like you are off to a good start with your daughter and your informative posts!

LOL well I'm glad you did ask special K. It's nice to chat with you again. How have been? Hey you wouldn't happen to know Niel Young would you? Not the singer. Lives in Kelowna. (I know totally random. Pretty popular guy)
