There are certain benefits of blockchain that, rather than making government more efficient, can make government obsolete. Records, such as birth certificates, death certificates, car titles, and property titles can be verified via blockchain. This would completely negate the need for sizable government programs. The applications are nearly endless. This is why governments are slow to accept blockchain, because it diminishes the need for them, their services, and ultimately their power.
